Hi girls -

Just want to let you know that, for some reason, I'm just not receiving emails sent through MJF. Brian and Gabe have worked on this, but they just can't figure it out. I tried contacting my service provider, but they were absolutely no help at all. I have no idea what's going on, but I just don't want anyone to feel that I'm blowing you off if you've sent me an email and I haven't responded. If you need to reach me, please just post here and I will send YOU an email through MJF and then you can just reply directly to my email address that is in the heading. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience.

Brian and Gabe -

Thank you so much for trying. I really appreciate your time and efforts to help. Comcast has sent several reboots to our modem/wireless router, thinking somehow that would fix the problem, but it has not (I didn't think it would - this is an email problem, not a signal problem!). They also said they are "looking into it," but I haven't seen any improvement. <sigh> Laurie aka laurzgot sent me an email through MJF this morning, but it has still not arrived in my inbox. As I mentioned, I do not have anything sent to spam, but I did check the spam folder just to be sure, and there's nothing in there, either. I don't know what to do, but hopefully Comcast will fix the problem soon. It's so frustrating to be on the phone waiting for them - sometimes it takes over an hour before I hear the voice of a living, breathing person; and even then most of the time there is a language barrier with which to contend. The reps are really nice and extremely polite, of course, but they get very confused and it feels like it's just a big run around. So frustrating. If either of you have any idea as to what else I can try to do to fix this problem on my end, please do let me know. I realize it's probably not even an issue with the MJF email system, please know that. And I really do appreciate everything you've done to try to help. You guys are the best! :)

Have a great day, everybody!

Excellent.
I'm glad something worked out finally, and that Comcast was helpful about it, at last.

Well, here's to no more email problems!

Hello Gentlemen!

Just want you to know that Comcast did something in the "spam" section of my account. I hadn't been sending anything directly to spam, but they felt something was going on there, and whatever adjustment they made it seemed to have worked! PHEW! I received an email from one of the farmgirls through MJF yesterday, so hopefully this is the end of the issue!

Thanks again SO very much for everything! You really are the best! And Gabe - I haven't checked out the situation with your email suggestion yet, but I will be doing so as soon as time permits! Thank you!

Sincerely grateful to you both -

Nini

I was considering suggesting that you switch to one of the online email services, like Gmail or Outlook.com (aka Hotmail, Live, etc.), but I wasn't sure whether that was appropriate or not. If you did that, however, your emails would be available to you wherever you go, and would be completely independent from your internet service provider, i.e. you can utilize one of those types of email accounts, regardless of who provides your internet service.
You might consider it, though it never is fun switching emails.

Yep, I believe you're right, Gabe. I called Comcast again this afternoon. This time the gentleman walked me through a process, basically having me turn on the spam filter and then turning it off again. Then he sent me an email, and it came through just fine; but their emails always come through! And I sent Laurie (laurzgot) and email from MJF just before posting this strain, and she said she still hasn't received it. I'm just hoping that this occurred prior to Comcast's "fix." I sent her another one a few minutes ago, so I'll let you know what happens. Thank you so much for trying to figure this out. I really do appreciate it! Don't drive yourself crazy, though. I've had a lot of problems with Comcast's email. They always tell me they are "aware of the problem," but it never does get fixed. The sad thing is, they are the only provider here where we live. I'm pretty much stuck with them. :\ If I can figure out how to share my email with the farmgirls without posting it publicly, I'm sure that will solve the problem! :)

Thanks again!

Well, that is frustrating.

It certainly should not be an internet connectivity issue, but rather some sort of email issue. You're spot on there. (Restarting your router has nothing to do with this issue whatsoever ... unless you yourself have gone in and really customized the settings in your router — which I doubt, because why would you do that? Anyway...)
From what you're describing, it sounds distinctly like email not being accepted before it ever gets anywhere near where you might see it, or email is not leaving our server, which doesn't seem to be a general problem, unless enough other users pipe up right now to let me know otherwise.

So... I'll keep thinking of anything else I might do to verify the email is at least being created and leaving our server.
Otherwise,
X fingers crossed X
