Ok I just went to update my email address as it has changed and it told me that MY email address is already in use. I'm not really sure how that is possible. PLEASE HELP!

The verification email will be sent to your new email address.
You've checked all junk folders and such there? (Expand "more" down in the left column.)
You may also want to make sure to add webmaster@maryjanesfarm.org to your contacts list, since that's how Gmail approves the sender, I believe.

The email will say something similar to the following:

Hello user

You received this message ... because you have changed your e-mail address ... blah blah blah

To complete your e-mail change, please click on the link below:

[link would be here]

I did try entering your new email address into your profile, and it still said that email address is in use. So I have to suspect that the email got sent and is hanging out somewhere, but we can't use your new email address until that email gets answered, or until I have someone go into the database and manually update your info.

I realize you probably got the "in use" message even immediately after having entered it for the first time, but I do think it has to do with the chatroom wanting a response from that email address.
(Pain in the *#%*x^@*, I know. That's why I sometimes don't know what our chatroom is thinking.)

I havent gotten an e-mail. Im not sure what to do now. My new e-mail is [edited].

This is actually a common issue.

Sometimes I don't know what this chatroom of ours is doing, but as I discovered last time I handled a similar inquiry, I have to keep in mind that the chatroom will send out an email upon changing an account's address, and the change won't be final until you respond to that email.

So, first look for that email and follow the instructions it provides.
Then check out your account to see if the change finally went through.

If after doing that you still don't see it happening, I'll try it myself (as an administrator) and have you look for the email again.
If you see the email and still no go, I'll dig deeper.
