Posted - Jul 26 2011 : 7:34:18 PM I was going to join the Sisterhood last weekend and when I went to pay with my credit card it said the link was not secure and the certificate expired in May. Will that link be secured, or can I join/pay over the phone?

Posted - Jul 29 2011 : 12:28:17 PM Oh. I see what you mean: you're doing all your browsing from your phone. Interesting. GeoTrust is the SSL certificate provider. Certainly comes up in the top 10 if I google SSL Certificates (which doesn't necessarily mean much). It's not Verisign or Thawte or such, though, which seem to be the biggest ones.
I guess it could make sense that whatever browser or OS you're using on your phone, it doesn't have GeoTrust registered as a trusted source. |

Posted - Jul 28 2011 : 8:40:31 PM Gabe, I have the info you asked for. Hope it helps. I logged into the Farmgirl Sisterhood and clicked on join us. It took me to http://shop.maryjanesfarm.org/sto... then I clicked on checkout and it took me to http://maryjanesfarm.americomm... that's when the screen pops up that says Security Warning. There are problems with the security certificate for this site. This certificate is not from a trusted authority. Like I said in my last text, I use my phone exclusively, so maybe that's the problem.

Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 8:39:32 PM Thanks Gabe. I will try and get the info for you. Suffice to say for now, eveeyrthing I do is from my phone. I don't have a computer, so maybe that's part of the problem. I do know that the little lock is open.

Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 10:51:56 AM Hello, camiesmommy:
I'm troubleshooting the expired certificate issue. It looks like all of our eCommerce provider's ducks are in a row, and anything to do with checkout and the credit card processing is handled under their umbrella.
When you get the message, can you get more details, so I meet see for sure what's triggering the message? Which browser are you using? and do you know what your security levels are set to? Do you get the message again if you try again? Perhaps record for me which page you're on when it pops up (copy the URL from the address bar in your browser): which page you're coming from and which page you're going to. You should see a section near the URL that changes color and lists the security certificate provider, as well as a lock symbol displaying somewhere on your browser's window meaning that you're now on a page with a secured connection. Clicking on the lock or the colored bar should provide more info about the connection.
If there are unsecured items being loaded onto the page, that will cause a message to pop up, depending on your settings for security warnings; but that message usually sounds different than what you're describing. Plus, I haven't found any images or such on the page loading from outside the secured domain. |
