Posted - Apr 09 2009 : 4:18:38 PM Well.....it's 6:16 here now and I have received nothing. Can you look and see if you are getting them sent back to you before i call them again? Thanks! Also, could you cut and paste the "error" message and send it to me so I can send it to them? I'm so sorry to bother you with this. I'm the only one having this problem so it must be my ISP.

Posted - Apr 09 2009 : 2:02:44 PM You're welcome. Hopefully you can bust through the run-around and get it figured out; and if you need us to do anything more let us know. You never know, we may need to finish up something on our ISPs end; but I'd guess that if the emails are going out, then we've done what we can, unless there's some other kind of header addition or authentication we need to make/set up. |

Posted - Apr 09 2009 : 1:31:14 PM Gabe....well...I talked to my ISP AGAIN! They said they've done all they can and that I had not "checked" a box to ALLOW webmaster@maryjanesfarm.org but it's been a few minutes and nada still so I will wait and see if I get any but then their Technical Support told me to call Customer Service? What can they do? I think I am getting the "run-around" but I will wait awhile and see but if you get messages coming back to you after 3:30 cst on April 9, 2009 then there's still a problem. Anyway....I'll keep a "lookout"! LOL! I WILL get this fixed.....regardless...I will pester them to death! Not you but my ISP! Thanks again for all YOUR help!

Posted - Apr 03 2009 : 08:28:56 AM Okay....I have a "NEVER BLOCK" list now and I put in webmaster@maryjanesfarm.org and then tested by sending myself and email from the chatroom but still NADA....maybe I'm just impatient but I looked in my emails and before they stopped that's the address where they were all coming from. I'll keep "keepin on" and I've subscribed to a few more posts and I'm hoping they'll show up soon!

Posted - Apr 02 2009 : 2:08:00 PM They might need to specifically let our IP for this website/our server pass through. I'd have to look it up first and see if that's ok to pass along to you (if I can even find a way). |

Posted - Apr 02 2009 : 2:01:40 PM Bad news. I got the message sent via the forum bounced back. I guess we'll have to see if my regular email makes it through. |

Posted - Apr 02 2009 : 12:59:40 PM ok, Gabe...I called my ISP and they turned off spam filtering on their end. I already had it turned off on my end (McAfee) so I am going to test by subscribing to a few things...also if you could email me from the site(MJ's) that would be a test too. I get City Farmchick Blog newsletter but I am assuming she is sending it from somewhere outside of Mary Jane's website and that is probably why I got it. Wish me luck!!!!

Posted - Mar 30 2009 : 11:36:57 AM Yes it is, a tangled web. Good thing you're checking back here, then! |

Posted - Mar 30 2009 : 10:46:08 AM You are right....I have not received any emails from you except that one that I told you about. I have a couple subscriptions and have gotten no notices about them either. I will contact my ISP....sorry, I didn't realize you were emailing me....this is SO strange except it must be blocking MJ stuff because a couple of the gals hav emailed me too and I have not received them yet I get no notice that it has gone to junk mail or blocked or anything...so it doesn't even GET to my email. You're right...it's got to be blocked at the ISP before it even gets to me. What a tangled web we weave! I'll let you know after I talk to them. Thanks!

Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 4:03:33 PM Aaaannnd...
It looks like your subscription notices are bouncing back (you don't receive one when you yourself post, but Carol saw the one for my post bounce back).
I haven't received a notice that my emails bounce back, but I don't think you're getting those either, at this point. So, I suggest talking with your ISP.

Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 1:23:44 PM Sounds like they haven't bounced back. Did you get a) my other emails, regarding your ISP (Internet Service Provider, that manages your email account)? and b) the notice about these posts to this forum?
Basically, about your ISP, if you still don't get the notices about posts here, you'll need to call them and let them know that you want to receive the emails from here.

Posted - Mar 26 2009 : 07:51:01 AM I checked my profile and received your email so that is correct. Have you found out anything else? I subscribed to this topic and this topic alone. See if Carol gets a notice on this one. I don't want to subscribe to others again if it causes problems. Thanks!

Posted - Mar 17 2009 : 11:37:24 AM Well, let me amend my statement, now that I've talked with Carol.
Apparently, she deleted all your subscriptions, since she's been getting a notice about your subscriptions being returned, which I wasn't aware of. So, if you would, log in to the Forum, click on "Profile" towards the top, and make sure your email address is correct. I sent you a test email to find out in a different manner.
If your email is correct, then I'll have to talk with our ISP about your ISP. If it's not correct, then please update it. I'm not sure what we should do about your subscriptions, though. |
Gabe |
Posted - Mar 17 2009 : 11:26:45 AM Hmm. Nope. I didn't delete any of your subscriptions. So that's interesting (one might say). I don't see a way for the average user to do so, either (meaning you yourself accidentally). I know I have an option to do so, but I haven't looked at your account since my last post here, so if you saw them up until today, it wasn't me.
That definitely no longer sounds like an email problem, and that also goes beyond cache and cookie problems, because those don't control subscriptions. I'll have to have the database looked at. It might be possible to reinstate your subscriptions. |

Posted - Mar 17 2009 : 05:33:29 AM Well.....Gabe....you must have deleted ALL my subscriptions because I certainly didn't! I had none yesterday so I thought I would hear from you regarding it but I didn't SO I added one subscription to test and still not getting anything and I usually get some emails through MJ's to me but nada. If there is something you could tell me to check here on my end I will but not telling me you were going to delete ALL my subscriptions and not communicating with me about it is a little disheartening. I know it was Monday and you were probably swamped and it IS MJ's website not mine but I was hoping to hear something from you about it. I KNOW nothing on my end did that deletion. If there is a limit please tell me. I had informed you I was going to start deleting subscriptions....was it an accident trying to find out what the problem was? Talk to me Gabe or if you are not the one I need to be communicating with please indicate who I should contact. Just an F.Y.I. I am 'subscribed' to other websites etc and have had no problem receiving them at all but it seems except for the City Girl blog email...everything from MJ's stopped as of the 13th....Oh.....I get it....it was Friday the 13th....ohh.....creepy! Please get back to me when you have a chance. Thank you.

Posted - Mar 14 2009 : 08:39:21 AM Okay....I will "Un" subscribe to some thinking maybe there is a limit. I checked spam and other inboxes and there was nothing from MJ's. I am getting the City Farmgirl blog from MJ's and I checked McAfee and I have the same VERY low setting for email since way back it was filtering too much. I received nothing yesterday and so far nothing today. I imagine it is me since no one else is complaining. Maybe the "powers that be" are just telling me to get more work done around here and stay off the computer for awhile! LOL! That wouldn't be a bad thing!

Posted - Mar 13 2009 : 3:14:07 PM It looks like you are still subscribed to a (great ;) ) variety of topics. I'm going to assume your email is still working fine on a basic level. If you have any spam filters, make sure they allow webmaster@maryjanesfarm.org . Or at least make sure that they haven't suddenly started getting caught, which sometimes happens as spam filters update themselves.
I'm still getting mine (which is why I knew about your post). So, not sure beyond that. If we hear that a lot of farmgirls are not getting their subscriptions, then I can have it checked at the server level for errors — especially if they all have the same email providers, since that was a problem before.
