First of all, you will have to have your photos posted somewhere else on the Web (at Yahoo photos, your own ISP's server, etc.) before you can actually insert your photos on one of our threads. On our site, you're just basically making a link to your photos that are already "on the Web." For example, HapyHrt's photos in A Farm of My Own/LQQKY! Beth's New Farm!!! *pics! reside at
http://tinypic.com/ejzpkn.jpg (not on our server, but at tinypic.com).

If you do already have photos posted somewhere, then here's how you go about making a link to them in a post:

On my computer, when I choose "reply to topic," I get a screen that allows you to type in a text box. At the top of that text box, there is a line of symbols that allow you to format text, add hyperlinks, etc. On that line of symbols (starting with a B for bold type), you'll see a little icon that shows a picture of mountains (fourth symbol from the right). If you mouse over that, you'll see it says "insert image" Just click on that once and it will insert two image tags: (img)(/img) (except they'll have brackets around them instead of parentheses, but I can't show you that here since that won't allow you to see the code.) Then you'll insert your photo link address between those two image tags, like this:
(img)http://tinypic.com/ejzpkn.jpg(/img) (again, these will be brackets instead of parentheses)

Hope this helps!
Carol

Hi Melissa!

It used to be that you had to upload them through Photobucket or something similar to post to this site, but now they host images! Just look for the icon that looks like a landscape of a mountain and sun with a little grey arrow to the left and pointing up. It is one of the options when you create a new topic and is also on the quick reply box down at the bottom of every topic page. On the quick reply box it is directly to the right of the word Message:

I hope that helps!

Well...don't tell anyone but I have a degree in computer science and well over 20 years experience but I worked in data communications and networking from the mainframe standpoint...the old dinosaur systems (although they are still in use today) but so much of this stuff is new to me also!
You go girl! A lot of it is persistence...and I'm long on that myself and love to solve problems.
Just think....now you have a second career to fall back on! LOL!

Thanks Sandra!!! I hung in there this morning and figured it out!!! Took me a 'few' hours though!
But, I love to learn something new when it comes to the computer. My 'technical support' (my son) goes to school out of state so is only home over the summer. I know that I can ask him but I am soooo darn stubborn!

I haven't done this yet at all but I think there's an address of sorts that needs to go in where your IMG is at the end inbetween the []...but not sure ...I shouldn't even be trying ot help you since I've never done it myself! LOL! Go back to page 1 of this topic and read that one long post where that gal explains it all in detail and see if that helps?

Okay, so I have figured out how to post a link. How do I post a picture so that it 'shows up' instead of just the link?

Jana - you have the code right in the beginning: [img] but you have to finish it up like this: [/img ]

So it'll be:
