Is Etsy still the place to sell vintage items? I have a sizeable collection that I'd like to sell but I'm not sure if that's the route to go. Mostly vintage glassware & collectibles.

Thanks for the tips! I had originally set up a shop but never listed anything. I have boxes of my mother in laws costume jewelry that I'd like to sell -I need a name that reflects that. My old store name was more of a vintage name and didn't mention jewelry. I think it would be easier to mail jewelry as well - I'm nervous about glassware in the mail. I'm looking into a small booth at a place in town.

I'm off to read your blog post.

Hi Deb,

Yes, Etsy is a great place to sell vintage and handmade gifts. Especially, if you are new to the platform.

I have a referral link for you to open a new shop and get 40 free listings.

Here are my tips so your shop gets off to a great start and actually gets sales.
Blog post
https://www.marketsofsunshine.com/search?q=etsy

or
Direct link
https://www.etsy.com/invites/sell/?iid=_mlWflQ2qE1xfJQswv2XGzY_WkjLh_NjDIk7GMelGi4.

Tip #1 - Name your shop about what you sell i.e. clothing, fabric supplies, home decor etc.. by category

Tip #2 - Use a photo editor to resize and brighten the photos (www.befunky.com)

Tip #3 - Add at least 10 to 20 items to your shop then publish them all at once.

Tip #4 - Continue to add new items daily and grow your inventory.

Tip #5 - Fill out all sections in your shop or Etsy will shut you down. About, policies, profile etc...

Tip #6 - Vintage means 20 years or older. They check.

Tip #7 - Use Etsy search to find what your item is and then use what shows up in the drop down menu. If it is a red coffee cup made by Mikasa that's what your title should be.

Tip #8 - Read the Etsy seller handbook from cover to cover first.

Hope you the best,

Marsha
