Posted - Feb 24 2012 : 09:28:45 AM Even though I am a artist at heart I have always wanted to write a non-fiction book. I started one on all things herbal but with moves, computer crashes ect I gave up on it...though I still have all the info written down to maybe some day come back to...anyway I decided to write a book on my chickens from my point of view & what I do to care for them. I had written it down just for me but this summer when my little sis was here for my surgery she got all excited about it...well I typed it up, sent it to her to edit (shes very good at writing) & now have 67 pages done!...I found a company that will publish it for me, I keep the copyright & its only $10.95 per hard back book with color photos, they do it with no limits! I can do 1 or 100 at a time...One of the Hens has been super encouraging so I am very excited to take this new step...So decided to be brave & let you all know since your opinions matter to me....Michele'

Posted - Mar 02 2012 : 10:19:22 PM Just a note...found out cause the book went over 100 pages they now want $34 per copy!...so will go back to my first idea of self publishing it.......i am not really upset over it cause I had a way I wanted it so no harm done.....I only plan on it selling for around $14 so if I went with the publisher I sure would be losing money...lol......Michele'

Posted - Feb 24 2012 : 10:38:12 AM That is great Michele. We have all benefited from your very valuable advice about chickens. I think you will make a big splash with your book! You can even go back through all of your posts and answers here that you've given all of us and probably fill another 67 pages!! Amazon offers some publishing services too. My brother-in-law is having his book of poetry published through Amazon. So you might check that out too. https://www.createspace.com/pub/l/books_fs.do?rewrite=true&utm_id=5333&ls=Amazon&ref=573907&sls=Keyword_Search&cp=70170000000BDfs
