My hubby and I are all for just working for ourselves, and we are finacially ok to do so. As of right now I still have a job, but am at risk of losing it due to an accident at work. (Not fair, I know) But anyway without paying a fortune, how do all of you handle this problem? Any input will be appreciated.

When I was laid off in 2003, I was offered "early retirement" health insurance. I am so glad I took it, even though it was pretty expensive. I am still paying for it and it certainly helps. Good luck in finding insurance. It is not cheap, that's for sure, but maybe things will look up for us in the future. Currently I pay 16% of my retirement income for health insurance.
