Hello,
We have a small apiary and sugarbush. So far I've been selling my products by word of mouth, but this weekend I'm selling honey, syrup, candles, and soap at a small festival.

When selling at festivals and markets, is there a way to estimate how much product to bring?

Thanks!
Jennifer

I take it all. My stuff is jewelry so its small but one of a kind. You always want to look well stocked. You might surprise yourself and sell out. You would hate to think all those extras were at home when you needed them. They dont sell at home in a box.

Also-OFFER SAMPLES! When I was selling stuff at my farmers market, I swear, 75% of my sales were from people who tried my product-maybe honey on a cracker or a bar of soap open to smell...

Always bring too much!

In my experience on both sides of the table (seller and shopper), a table should have plenty of product, not look sparse. This technique is also used in stores. You're more likely to buy something from a display of 10 than a single item.

I hope this helps you. I once did a festival and only sold $25. I learned that it was the wrong festival for my things. I've learned that my things sell much better at the college campus farmer's market instead of the town's BBQ festival.

I wish you the best of luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
