I have posted before on selling my quilts. And i have been making quilted items like crazy to sell in craft shows and bazaars this fall.
Could you please tell me what is selling right now? I am running out of ideas and could use some fresh input. Are aprons selling good? What size quilts seems to be going and at what price are you selling them?
I really don't want to make a ton of items and end up sitting on them all winter.

What good ideas, I was thinking along the lines of some cute fall pumpkins or apples with the quilt pattern Ive not seen anything like that , that I remember and I love the quilt patterns for anything. Pocketbooks are always a hit for ladies or maybe some eyeglass cases. Im sure whatever you choose will be a hit! Blessings,Karen

I too think the shopping bag idea would be great. Also, pricing is a big factor right now...everyone is trying to same a dime here, and a quarter there. The hardest thing, I think is going to be to price our products so we make a well deserved profit while still offering the consumer a good value. Unfortunately for home crafters, consumers are looking more at cost than quality. Here in my area (FL) Homemade dolls are selling well, as are child's aprons.

I'll second the quilted bag idea, especially long enough/wide enough for groceries. I use the heck out of mine that Miss Wilma made me. It's a great all purpose bag.
I might be thinking "baby" like because of my little one, but I'm always on the look out for little items for her nursery--framed quilt squares, quilted animals with embroidered eyes (could be buttons for older kids), quilted blocks for play. I also like the idea of doing quilts for little ones, but backing them with that lovely-dovely soft velvety fabric that I see so much of now at the fabric stores. Someone made her a humpty dumpty nursery rhyme quilt and I adore it. We use it as a wall hanging.
I also bought something rather cute (and I love it) for my coffee and hot chocolate. It's a larger sized quilted coaster that has aromatics in the batting, that when heated, releases a lovely scent of cloves and cinnamon. When fall rolls around, I get that out and use the heck out of it!

Quilted table runners with matching placemats in holiday themes, and in non-holiday themes, with mix and match accesories, i.e., t-towels, pot holders, hot pads, etc.

I always use an 80/20 batting. I love it b/c it washes so nicely. I have been making simple throw quilts. 6" suares, some are tied and some are hand quilted. But with this economy I am try to keep them simple, country-like and less expensive.
I am going to be making som potholders and coaters this weekend. And I am going to test market the aprons at work (make a couple and see how they go).

My mom was just saying how much better everyone liked her quilts when they had cotton batting.Also being a fiber geek myself,I've always wanted to make a silk quilt with silk batting- check it out it's the most amazing stuff.Also there was a fiber show here and a woman had wool batting- what about a wool crazy quilt w/ wool batting- really heavy i know. But maybe something.I also like pot holders filled with the felted cotton made for table padding.

In our area, cloth bags seem to sell well, since people are "going green". And at craft shows, they might need something to haul around all of the goodies that they get.

I'm not sure what's selling right now-but,off the top of my head I would say with the holidays coming up,that Fall/Halloween/Yuletide potholders & kitchen-dining room decor would be good,as well as Halloween! Quilts-you know with folks wanting to save on their heating bill,I'd think a good home made quilt would be an instant sell. Have you thought about lap blankets for sitting in front of the TV or on the porch with? Gift baskets of small kitchen items-like potholders,trivets,etc? You could take a wander around different auction sites & see if aprons are moving.
