I've been a Watkins dealer for some time, but a year or so I let my web site slide because I wasn't getting enough results from it to make it profitable.
I recently reinstated it, because my 25-year old daughter is really having a tough time. She's had a couple of misdemeanor issues, neither serious, but enough to make it difficult for her to find a job in a tought economy. She has decided she wants to be a stay-at-home mom. This would be fine, but her significant other is not yet a good provider..... So how do you stay at home with no income?
I've been helping to support her -- and I've signed her up to do Watkins Living Naturally parties. Watkins is a company that is almost 150 years old, it has survived good times and bad, and I believe strongly in the quality and purity of the products they sell- especially the Vanilla products and the liniment and salve products that have been good sellers for many, many years. In addition they have lines of cleaning products and health and beauty aids that are natural-product based and healthy.
I'm hoping that demonstrating Watkins products at home parties will give her some self-confidence and start her on the road to being able to support herself.
Does anyone have experience with home party businesses and can give pointers and help to her to get her started?

Wow Brenda it sounds like we have the same 25 year old daughter  .
My daughter has a misdemeanor from a couple of years ago ( nothing major) and she can not find a job due to the misdemeanon! Same problem with the significant other and they have a 2 year old.
I think Watkins is a great idea!

I have never personally been a home party demonstrator but my friend in HS mom was a queen at it. Her way was to do theme parties. She was into tupperware so she did say, a pie party and actually made a pie using tupperware products. She also did a candy making party. A backpacker party etc. So what you do is go through your items for sale and come up with several choices for themes that incorporate products you wish to sell. Then come up with a party. Say a facial party for beauty products or a makeup party - something to incorporate your product but also helps to make the party unique and fun. I hope this helps.
