I really really really want a career I can do from home that will more than likely have benefits etc. I have looked into the medical ones, but I'm curious what are some others. Do any of you all work from home for like other places or businesses?

I work from home as a medical transcriptionist and absolutely LOVE it. I took all-online classes through a state university to get my MT certificate. It is hard to find a MT job working from home straight off as most home-based jobs require a minimum of 1 year experience, which most MTs get by working in a hospital or dr's office for a year or so first.

My in-laws work from home, they do design layout and edit textbooks.

Copyediting can also be done from home, provided you have the background (BA in English usually)

I know this is an older post, but I came across it just browsing through the threads, and thought you might still be interested in a couple ideas. I asked a similar question not too long ago and got a few responses with some good ideas. Here's the post for that, hope it helps!
