I started a country folk art business, called Backwoods Junction, less than a year ago and since then, it's been growing like crazy. I was blessed to be invited to sell my dolls at a very high-end hand made boutique in Louisville last fall and they called me today with an awesome request. There is an author who has written a book about nuns and she is having a big book premiere party in a few weeks. She came back into the boutique to get one of my nun dolls but they were all sold. She's requested a nun doll to sit on display next to her book at the premiere! I'm so excited! It's such great exposure for me!
Below is a picture of one of the nun dolls that I make....

She has to be delivered to the store next Saturday. I got her body sewn together last night. I have to start on her clothing today. I will post a picture of her when she's done!

I remember a couple months ago you were looking for ideas for a small rosary to sell with the doll--it finally occurred to me, that you could use rosary bracelets, as these would be a proportionate size:

You're right! I could use those....It didn't occur to me. I was at the Catholic book store but their little rosaries that size are all plastic and ugly. As long as I had beaded ones, it would work great!
Thanks!

see how pretty they are?

there are also some on Etsy!

Your joy in making the dolls certainly shows on the face of your little nun! She is quite fetching for a girl of the cloth! :) Congratulations!

That is great news! Your nun has such a sweet warm face to her. Maybe she could become that book's mascot. :)
