Hi Jule ,
I wish that my store kept me crazy busy..but no..it doesn't. It just gives me a wee bit of "fun money" at the moment...hopefully though as I keep trying to find new items to list..things will pick up for me.

I find that to generate more business you have to do quite a lot of plugging for yourself. ...meaning you have to get involved with the forums on etsy once in a while, as well as blogging about your products, posting about them wherever you can ..(where it is allowed)

Etsy.com does not advertise their website..honestly..as much as I feel they could. It is a fairly new company...and from what I have seen they do not get "out there" like Ebay does to promote the site. So..that being said..the vendors have to do a lot of that themselves to bring the business in.

For one gal that I do know from here...Mugwort Maggie.....her etsy shop took off so well that she now sells tons of homemade laundry soaps...and now has a new website selling her products...And does her business full time now. That is a product that really took off for her through her etsy shop.

Me, I'm plugging along..slow but sure.I try to come up with new and exciting products as I can.

A lot of the farm gals here have become part of a team on Etsy..called "Farmgirl Flair Etsy Team"
Together we have a blog and also work on networking to promote items made by farm girls.I am a proud member of that team.

I have seen Etsy growing quite quickly with members over the last few months and I'd definitely encourage you to give it a try.
The cost of listing an item is cheaper than Ebay costs/fees.

I have noticed also that a few celebrities are starting to find Etsy..and as such..they sometimes will mention it on their shows..as such was the case during a recent "Rachel Ray" show..so..the news is getting out about the site..slowly but surely.
I think it is just a matter of time before more folks become aware of it.

If you create handmade items..I do encourage you to give Etsy a try...and come join us on the "Farmgirl Flair Etsy Team".

~Tina
