What is the going rate per 1/2 hour or hour with an experienced teacher (guitar, bass, theory) in your area? Thanks!

My son takes violin and pays $15 for a half hour but she prefers to give them a 45 minute slot for that much instead.
So, I think it depends on the teacher.

oh yes at an academy or something like that it'd be expensive. Now a days $15 is cheap, but I'm new so I charge that. PS While i'm typing the movie White Christmas is on LOVE IT

Rhonda, at the Cincinnati Music Academy, which is where I'd send my child (if I had one), here is a direct blurb from their website:

"weekly half-hour lessons range from about $88 to about $110 per month, depending on the teacher’s experience and the type of program wanted. Longer lessons are priced proportionally."

My daughter's piano teacher used to charge about $55 a month for three 1/2 hour lessons a month plus one 1-1/2 hour theory class. She also took violin for $15 per half hour lesson.

Hope this helps! Karin
