I am so excited. As most of you know, I do two antique shows in Fairfield, WA a year with 30+ vendors. While I did my own booth there, I find I still have too much stuff of my own the rest of the year. I do have a booth at Monroe St. Bridge Antiques in Spokane, but my space is pretty limited. So I found a big garage in a busy location in Spokane that I am going to be able to do monthly sales in. This gives me the space to store things and an area to re-do the furniture I love to "bring back to life". It also frees up our home and garage of the ever growing mountain of stuff. My husband is thrilled to get his garage back! I sign papers today! So excited. I will post when my first sale is, for those of you local to Spokane.

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

My signage does make it clear that there are antiques. I am not sure how the word "junk" is viewed on a national level, but around here it is seen as repurposing treasures and very well accepted. There is a gal I think in Ohio who is simply called "Junk Warehouse" who does sales and has literally thousands come. I appreciate the suggestion, but I think the main focus is to get the people to see what we have and to get them to come. My antique shows are more "farm antiques", not high-end snobby type stuff. There is some authentic china, etc., but a lot of it is old enamelware, old egg baskets, weathered wood furniture, etc. The main shoppers these days are after that, not gold plated limoge china. There are even magazines and books with the word "junk" as part of their name. In fact, I believe the two gals in Country Home magazine refer to their stuff as "Junk Market" and they seem to be doing quite well. Thanks for the thoughts.

I was thinking of that myself...I might use "junques" or I've also seen "junktiques" or something like that...to soften the connotation of junk. I call my treasures my "junques" - I got it from a friend whose grandmother used to call the stuff she took to the swap meet her junks, or maybe that was her husband who had to haul it all for her :-) But I might soften the junk a bit, Brenda. Just a suggestion. Judy

Brenda- Do you think the "Junk" title might deter some of the high end buyers?

Since my first dates were postponed due to the second unexpected sinus surgery, I have rescheduled my first sale for June 29 & 30th 9 to 5. It is at 6205 N. Nevada (just south of Francis) for those of you in the area. I have decided to call these sales Past Blessings Junk Warehouse. I want people to know that it is connected to my shows, yet still have its own identity. So hopefully this works!

Hugs & blessings!

Thanks everyone! I hope some of you can make it to the June one. I am still figuring future dates, but I know there will be at least one per month. Probably mid July will be the next one. Trying to schedule it around kids, hubbies, camping and other competing events is interesting to say the least! I have to accept that no date will be perfect for everyone and just do the best I can. My goal is 14 Sales and 2 Shows per year. We will see how that all pans out. Sounds good in theory . . .

Oooh...I've got a hike at MaryJane's that weekend, but I'll have to come in at least to wish you well on your grand opening! I just loved your show at Fairfield!

We make a difference.

It is only about 15 minutes from my house, so it is convenient. My first sale will be June 22nd and 23rd. I just had sinus surgery, so I can't do much yet, but will get it all together the last week. I think it is going to work out great. For those of you in Spokane it is 6205 N. Nevada which is just a hair south of Francis (not even a 1/2 block.) This is a busy intersection, so that should work great.
