What is your inner farmgirl like? What really calls to your soul/inner self?

My inner farmgirl still sees each day as an opportunity to find fun and excitement as the minutes pass. My inner farmgirl loves to feel the dirt between her fingers and toes. She loves to feel the sun beating down on her head and back as she leans down to pluck a weed from the vegetable patch. She loves to have animals around and to find some quiet time to work on arts and crafts. My inner farmgirl still gets excited to see a rainbow in the sky and to hear the crash and see the flash of lightning on a summer evening.

My inner farmgirl wishes she had a real farm, but for now I appreciate the little cozy "urban farm" that I do own, and worked so hard to get all by myself. She is appreciative of each and every little thing. I love the simple things in life - I love animals and I love to hold my cat and hear her loving purr. I love the birds that visit my feeders. I love the connection I have with the earth, and the beauty of each season. I love all the crafts I am doing - crocheting, embroidering. Things my Grandma taught me and I have remembered for many years. My inner farmgirl loves the closeness of my family, the blessing of still having both my healthy parents, and my one grandma who will be 100 in August (and still going strong!). I love the little church I attend each Sunday. And, my inner farmgirl loves this site and all the farmgirls who are now my sisters.

My inner farmgirl is connected to the simplicity of life. If we get our lives too cluttered up with things that are stressful or unimportant, we tend overlook the simple pleasures of each day and miss out on a happy and contented life.

I actually lost my inner farmgirl for awhile. I tried to bury her under false fronts of others ideas for what I should be and I practically choked her off. It was while I was out hiking in Yosemite one day, I realized how much I am a back to basics kinda gal and my dreams of living a simple farm life could not be extinguished. I could actually feel my heartbeat a joyful beat for the first time that day. That is when I knew I needed to brush off the dust and disappointment of others and let the sun shine on her.

My inner farmgirl is not as eloquent as all of you. She loves space, room to breathe, land to walk on, grass, wildflowers, wildlife and family.

No matter our age, we farmgirls have the same inner selves. I wish so much that my inner farmgirl could become my outer farmgirl. I would love to die knowing that I had lived on a farm, a quiet place, a field of dreams, a sanctuary. I Know that God has given me so much. I should not wish for more........

My inner farmgirl, loves that there is always something that needs tending to.... I love its "imperfection". I love spring planting and walking barefooted in the garden and that it reminds me that I am only a part of the bigger picture. My inner farmgirl loves that the garden is a great reminder that there in beauty in the imperfections.

My inner farmgirl is just thrilled when my Amish neighbor comes down and plows my garden with his horses. I look forward to doing my spring housecleaning. I love to smell freshness in my sheets and clothing from hanging outside. I love to open the windows and have a breeze come in after a very long and cold winter. I love to be in my garden and feeling the dirt everywhere. I love the smell of dirt! I love beets because they smell like dirt! The inner me loves to sit on my porch with a good book and a cup of coffee and listen to the birdies sing. I am just so grateful and thankful for all my many blessings as a farmgirl! Susan

Kathy, I cried when I read your post. I shed tears freely too! I'm sure your Dad is very proud of you.
My inner farm girl is happiest when she sees new life springing forth after a long winter hibernating under the snow. When she can rake away the mulch and dig in to the long neglected earth to start planting for the wonderful summer vegetables that taste so much better when they're her own!
When she looks out into her back yard and sees all her hens and handsome rooster pecking around for goodies in the grass (that's one of my favorite things to watch).
When she gets up early enough to walk to the barn and see the sun starting to rise over the church steeple down the hill and hear the birds chirping and Franklin(my rooster) crowing to greet the day (and his food!). All these things are so simple, but so necessary for my satisfaction in my life.
My inner farmgirl wishes she could be a full time farm girl-and one day it will happen :)

I'd rather live my life with a "full plate" than an empty one. Life is not a rehearsal... eat up!

My inner farmgirl believes fiercely in all that is good - she would give her very life for the animals that bless her life each and every day - even though I yell at the little hellions! My inner farmgirl sheds tears freely for the good things in life as well as the sadness. She loves being outside in nature, especially deep in the woods or sitting on the beach beneath a full summer moon. I love dancing to gypsy music in weird clothes and just feeling free from all my cares. She loves the smell of honeysuckle and roses and the smell of dirt after a long winter's thaw. She communes directly with the plants and trees - out loud too, and she believes in faeries to this very day. I love being there to listen to others when they need a shoulder to lean on. My inner farmgirl thinks I would have made my daddy proud :)and she knows that he lives forever in her heart and he will always be the Wind Beneath My Wings.

My inner farmgirl is blessed with our little spot of heaven, as I've taken to calling our house and one acre...my inner farmgirl wants our home to be overflowing with love, good health, dreams and ideas, and takes pride in doing what my grandmother's before me did on their land, whether farm or city plot--planting flowers and roses, vegetable and herb gardens and fruit trees to provide sustenance, beauty and joy for our family. My inner farm girl takes great joy in what our land provides naturally for our taking and preservation--wild brambles to make jam and cordial, ramps and walnuts, too.

My inner farmgirl is always learning and striving and hopeful to BE....a better person, a better housekeeper, a better wife, a better knitter, a better weeder, a mother and friend...

My inner farmgirl is my biggest cheerleader.

I'm going to post this first, because I bet Alee and Amanda could find the scent they are looking for right here...http://www.demeterfragrance.com/

Alee, I wear "wet garden" in the springtime, and tomato in the summer :)

Now, I'm going to write about the inner farmgirl...

This is great! It seems we are all in touch with our inner farmgirl, and if we aren't completely giving her what she wants...at least we are working towards it! Doesn't that make you feel great? Think of all those poor people out there that just have no clue as to what they want or where they are going in life.

Now, I do have moments of that myself. But, at the very core and fiber of my being, I know that dirt and growing things makes me happy. Life is good!

My inner farm girl yers for wholeness, opportunities for balance (nature, earth, activities, skills, seasons, etc.)
I love my life!!! I am homebased in almost every aspect of my life; homeschool, homemade wholefoods, gardening, everything herbal, quilting, sewing, computering, etc. Two afternoons/evenings I work out of a wellness center doing RET (Rapid Eye Technology) assisting people releasing trauma, stress & limiting beliefs.
God has giving me the life that is full, relaxed and exciting!!!

Now to find a farmgirl group in the hen house to join?

my inner farm girl still misses leaving the farm.. I miss the cows.. seeing the farms along the road as I drove anywhere. Now my inner farm girl just loves to live life as simple as possible- filling her day with kiddos and crafts.. Someday I will have that farm again and my inner farmgirl will shout with glee!

My inner farmgirl, loves the feel of achy muscles, when I lay down at night after a hard days work. I love to feel sweaty and sticky from being in my garden all day.I also love a cold shower from a long day of hot/work.
I like to give more than I like to recieve. I am more comfy when I have a peasant skirt, tank and flip flops on than anything else.
I wish they could bottle the smell of wet/fresh cu thay and bottle it.I would wear it as perfume.

My inner farmgirl desires to make each day an artful one and helping others in need...seeing the extrodinary in the ordinary things. I enjoy the many flowers around me and make many bouquets to help the hurting and the overlooked feel special and wanted....as well as treating myself to something special now and then. I love the big open sky w/ the puffy, white clouds and the beaming sunshine as I roam about many farm fields w/ a song in my heart. I enjoy the sound and the smells of the spring/summer rains as they make me lull to a peaceful mid-day nap or sitting inside working on the many crafty projects that I enjoy.
