Post yours!

Here are ours thus far. We try to incorporate a variety of traditions into our own, and as such, I am seeking out a Menorah so we can teach the girls about Judeaism and Channuka. We aren't African American at all so I really see no reason to incorporate anything about Kwanzaa into our festivites.

Our altar. On the left side we will be placing a Winter village made from the face of the holiday cards we got last year. So it is yet incomplete.

The center of the Altar. We have two awesome antique Father Christmas candles and I am not too sure where I found them, though they were thrift finds. They stand above our Christ-child figurine who is waiting for his arrival. Also not the Sun icon I have at the bottom left of the Altar. He was flipped over because the Sun went away and is now flipped back over because the Sun comes back at Yule/Solstice.

Our Nativity scene sans the Christ-child

Our Goddess and God all decked out for the season.

And last but certainly not least, the tree. You can barely see it in the photo, but there is a silver wired star atop it and the basket next to it contains our holiday books. I have to find my wire star shaped basket to put beneath it for the cards that will come.

We have to get Zoe a stocking, as hers from last year says on it "Baby's First Christmas", and so she needs a new one. So I didn't take pictures of our stocking garland. WE have a bit more decorating to do around the other parts of the house...the girls have thier own mini-trees in their rooms and we have outdoor decor to finish.

Let's see your pictures!!!

I wanted to post some photos too, finally got around to taking a few shots with the cameras.

First is the display of cards, mostly from Farm Girls - you all rock!

Next is a closeup of our tree - I have theme trees. I am now up 4 different themes (not all at once ) a different tree every year. This is the first year for my garden/woodland tree. It's a little hard to tell, but there are birds, birdhouses, fruit, wheelbarrow, etc on this tree.

Next are the photo ornaments on our other garland. I am slowly collecting these and filling with family photos.

Then there are my dancing bears, DH bought this for me many years ago.

Tina,
Very nice!!! Wish I could figure out how to get the pictures here. Love all your stuff, wonder why you didn't get a glare off your mirror with the flash? The decorations on your tree look so nice. So much color this time of year I love it.

village displays on kitchen counter

coffee table display with snowman that lights up and twirls

tree

cute garland of angels

sparklies

one of my fave ornaments..grins

near the fireplace

some of my snowman collection

teddybears by the french doors

buffet display/I did fill the glass dishes with candy for guests

part of my apron collection/note apron that is yellow and crocheted from our very own Sunshine!

dining table diaplay/using a 4 tiered silver plated server that I got from a farmgal trade

buffet display

Anyhow..this is how I decorated my house this year..thought maybe some could use the idea of the bowl with fruit and ornaments and tier display idea (normally the fruit bowl is just set out on the coffee table year round, just tossed in a few ornaments for a festive look)and thought the tier server would look elegant with the ornaments in graduated sizes and a silver bow.
Hope you all like it.
My kids love it!

ok am going to try my hand at posting images here.

this is a small table that is kept decorated like this year round in my kitchen area. It does seem to match my holiday colors this year though.

HA JEnny! We have stockings for Madeline and Lexi too. They live out in the garage (since they got fixed they pee everywhere...not acceptable) and so the stockings hang out there for them. LOL!

We won't be putting our tree up until this weekend..havn't managed to get the decorations out yet either...sigh...busy week
Someone gave my husband a tree today, BUT...although I know free is nice..this is not OUR tree. It is one of the layered nice kind..but skimpy and small..we have 10 ft. ceilings and this tree will look just silly...not nearly big enough or full enough. I like a nice full tree. I told husband we should offer it to the sweet older widow that lives next door so we plan to do that tomorrow. We will find a good home for it...for now it is in the garage.
I am ALMOST tempted to get a fake one this year...but I guess I am just not quite ready for that yet. We have tons of decorations. I did put a Christmas tablecloth on the table and got new stockings for the cats (I know) and I need to make one for Mona this year (she rates a homemade one ) The dogs have had theirs for years. We do all the pet stockings in the family room and the human ones in the living room where the tree is.
This is a Christmas rug I hooked years ago that I put out each year

This is one of our stockings. (my husband's) I hooked them (wool strips) over the years. I am the only one who dosn't have a hooked one yet. Maybe this year..but I doubt it..too many other things to finish..haha Mine is made from an old red and white quilt..and I love it.
More pics later.

Bonnie,
What nice pictures and how nice your tree looks. This moose thing is funny I don't care what anybody says. But boy you gotta love those silly little faces don't you. They always look like they are saying-WHAT?? Watch your mail in a few days. I said watch your mail in a few days not the moose.
I have to go rip out a tag in my shirt now that is driving me crazy.

I love your tree and the room that it is in, Tasha!
Here are a couple of mine!
We have a fake tree b/c of my daughter's allergies/asthma. It's grown on us! I have everything on it from decorations my mom bought me as a child to things the kids have made!

This is the livingroom also. On top of the entertainment center is a music box nativity my mom bought me, a few moose and other decorations I have collected over the years.

My moose are always ready for winter and now Christmas with the help of my newest Nativity set!

Candismom sent me this darling towel that her mother had made!

Ok...last but not least... It is a 11/2 foot moose with Christmas lights...I just can't help it!!!

Nancy,

I turn the flash off on the camera usually. I don't like how washed out a lot of my pictures get with the camera and I am honestly too lazy to read the instructions on how to use the flash and not get washed out pics.
