My fiber optic tree I have had for 13 years finally died. The bulb burned out. I decided I still wanted to use it so I found a set of 50 string lights and put them on. It really made the plastic fiber glow and sparkle. I loved how it looked even if the colors didn't show anymore. I can't stand to throw away things I am fond of. Glad it is back with the living

Tina - that sounds ADORABLE!!! What a neat idea! 'Sure would love to see a picture, if you have one! We don't have tumbleweeds in our area... I wonder if big, rolling dust bunnies would work just as well? LOL! Hugs - Nini

tumbleweed snowmen, stack three as you would a real snowman, spray white with fake snow, decorate as you would any snowman, back light and the complaments will come, lol...

It looks beautiful. Glad you were able to come up with an alternative to save it.

Nice you have such a creative hubby. Mine thinks most of the time I have gone off my rocker. But....that does not stop me, hehehehe

Awww... Great idea, Kem! Very pretty and sparkly! I love what you did! SO creative and SUCH a great way to salvage your beloved tree!!!

This year, my husband dug our old imitation tree out of the attic and planted it smack dab in the front yard, covered with its original lights as the centerpiece of his light display. Weird? Perhaps, but quite effective! It looks real - in the dark, that is! LOL! He also turned tomato cages upside down, anchored them in the garden, tied the pointy ends together and covered the wires with lights to make little accent trees for his display. Pretty nifty stuff! Now I just have to convince him that the big tree goes back into the attic after the holidays... ;)

Hugs -
