I love holidays. I am extra-excited this year. The last two Decembers were not the greatest. 12/14/12 was horrible for my town, as you all know. No one wanted to celebrate, of course. Then last Christmas, we tried to all have cheer, but a friend of mine got sick at Christmas and died on New Year's Eve. We weren't super close, but ran in the same circles, her daughters are friends of my daughter since kindergarten, and it was just terribly sad. I had just seen her a few weeks before. Also, my daughter had a freak accident at a Christmas party and had to go to the emergency dentist at Christmas Eve, and then again on New Years. Stressful. The dog broke in to the closet and ate all the stocking stuffers. I had to worry she'd drop dead of chocolate poisoning! And on top of it, I was sick last holiday.

This year, I am so excited. We will have some of my husband's family visiting! My hubby is taking some time off for the holidays, and we are going to see lots of friends and entertain. A good ol' fashioned Christmas! I will cook like a crazy person, eat to oblivion, and wrap presents til my fingers are numb!

I have already made some new Christmas crafts, baked some batches of cookies, and done some Christmas shopping! Working on Christmas cards, too.

Hee hee, I am ready!

Who's with me???

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Having a wonderful Sunday morning listening to my Celtic Woman Christmas cd. The just finished singing "Christmas Pipes". I'm all done decorating and shopping is almost finished as well. So I am relaxing and listening to music with my coffee & pistachio cookies (made them yesterday). Hope everyone is getting a chance to sit back relax, and reflect on this wonderful season!

Oh, Nicole - I'm so happy and excited for you! It sounds like you are going to have a true storybook kind of Christmas! I love it! And your skates are beautiful! I always have a pair of old ice skates filled with greenery and berries hanging from a chair in the entry way during the holidays, too! They are one of my favorite decorations! Yep - I know what you're thinking! And you're absolutely right! :) Have a wonderful Christmas season! Hugs - Nini

Here's one of the crafts I did with a friend of mine...re-purposes skates!

Today I'm decking out the house full blast! DD and I hung up the outside lights on Wednesday.

Then I'm hitting my sewing room. Will post pics when I'm done.

Farmgirl hugs,
Nicole

Today I am "touching up" my wreaths and decorated sled. The picks and bows sometimes get a little wonky. I am also starting on some Holiday throw pillows. I found vintage print Christmas fabric, and just couldn't help myself!

Aww! So glad you are excited for Christmas this year!!! I am also super excited, for it is the first time in THREE years I will be able to be in a home that I can decorate! Last year we couldn't even have a tree (I did get a little stick thing at Dollar Tree to set on the table). This year, though, this year!!!! I'd totally give you a hug if I could right now :) Merry Christmas!!!!! (I don't think its too early to wish someone that) :D

And I'll bet you're already humming Christmas carols. I am. Soon I'll break out the music. It's nice to know you're feeling better. Enjoy every minute of your old-fashioned Christmas!
