Hi Birdi,

That was actually my wedding picture. The tree is a Cedar tree. We had a very small wedding and were married in a restaurant. The restaurant use to be in a little house. The tree was on the old property and they moved it to the new restaurant.

Thanks so much to all the farmgirls,
I am still receiving Christmas cards from you all and thanks so much for the little notes, recipes, ornaments, tea and all sorts of other little extras included in them.
It is so lovely to be included in the farmgirl family, particularly at the moment when I am having a bit of a hard time with my husband - makes me feel there is someone caring for me.
Many, many thanks and best wishes to you all,
Jayne

Hi Everyone,

I know I was late with Christmas cards this year. Everyone should have them by today or tomorrow at the lastest. It was a very interesting Christmas to say the least. We got power back the day before Christmas only to lose it again for 5 additional days.Between the 15th of December and now we were without power for a total of 15 days.
Because of the storm we did not get a tree up and with no power no holiday baking. We both ordered stuff and because mail delivery was suspended in our area nothing came in before Christmas. Luckily I had mailed all of the out of state gifts and bought toys for our friends kids before the storm.
We had a wonderful Christmas. It really showed me how little it can take to be happy. We were so grateful to have power to cook a great Christmas dinner and not to worry about getting fuel for the generator.
I cooked a big prime rib and had friends and neighbors over. We had such a wonderful day. I had been reading the thread on simplifying Christmas. I never dreamed Christmas would be that simple this year.
We now have internet...Yahooo! I never knew how much I would miss it. I have not had internet access at home since the night 14th of December. I have had to drive to my office or to a library for access.
Love to all,
Laura

PS- I did get an email from one of the girls that never received a card from me. I sure hope there was only one. But if someone else by chance didnt get a card from me, would you please email me so I can at least send you a New Years card. I guess some mail is bound to be lost in all the hustle and bustle, but geesh, I dont want anyones feelings hurt.

Hey gurlz! The card exchange was great and totally made it fun to go to the mail box. Thank you everyone for being so kind and loving. Ellen, I got your card after coming home from a long trip. Your words were just what I needed to hear. Thank you so much for your heart. I totally look forward to the Valentines exchange, my mailbox is lonely and empty.

It's probably not my place to do it, but I know many of us when we started this list were interested in the RAOK list (randon acts of kindness).

The RAOK list is active again and if you check out the following page you can join by e-mailing Gaiasrose.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

YEP, I'am looking forward to sending out pretty valentines, just like in grade school. And of course years ago valentines were sent out like Christmas cards.I have a whole bunch of really old ones from Richard's family, they were sent to friends and family and co- workers. So I know I am looking forward the next exchange. THE CHRISTMAS CARD EXCHANGE WAS A BIG SUCCESS!!!!!!! Thankyou Sue.
