Whether or not you are a mother, the woman who gave birth to you is why you are here. Celebrate this woman and the gift she gave you... life!
It's also a time to remember those caring, nuturing people who have gone before us who "mothered" us in their own way. I see friends, aunts, sisters, grandmothers who all tried to make our way special somehow because they loved us.
May tomorrow bring you sweet memories, treasured moments and abundant blessings with those you love.
Happy Mother's Day!

with a happy heart

What a wonderful thing to do Meadowlark!!! My mom is not at all interested in that sort of thing...although she did plant a little garden in boxes this year..a start. She lives in Calif too, which would be hard. I did give a bumper sticker and the info to the friend here who trades me honey for goat milk...I am sure hoping she wants to be in my chapter! And my sis in law across town who has goats and similar interests is gone for a couple weeks on vacation..I hope she will be a member too..I have a couple other ideas too for members..I may recruit my other sis in law and friend even though they are a long ways away..as our "field representatives" haha. Isn't this a fun way to network?
I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers day..I DID!

Meadowlark - what a great Mother's Day gift idea! I would have melted if my daughter did that for me! In fact, I think I will extend that invitation to her, she loves MJF magazine too.

You two will have fun doing the Chapter together!

It is nice when we can touch our Mothers in a special way...I gave my Mom the No Place Like Home issue, and invited her to be the first member of the farmgirl chapter here and she loved it! She grew up a true farmgirl in the depression with a widowed mother in poverty. She has so much to tell and to teach. She is a shining light.

Clare - you gave your mom just what she wanted - time with you. It was heart-warming to read your post. Happy Mother's Day to you.

This weekend I honored my mother's request to come visit and "spend the night". (I usually make day trips). Mom and I have had a tenuous relationship, but things seem to have mellowed as of late, which is nice. My gift to her was some divisions from some flowers in my yard to add to her gardens at her new place. I planted them for her yesterday, and then today also added nutrient rich compost to all of her plants. I also planted tomato plants that she apparently just didn't feel up to doing. At this point, being 77 years old, it's always a question of them not needing a thing for a gift, but rather time and energy. I do think I hit my mark this weekend. It's nice when that happens.

I hope you all enjoyed nice Mother's Day too.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you on this site, who so glady and grandly nurture your children, your families, your pets, and all of us who come here.
