This Father's Day is very special for my family. My husband and I had our first children (twin boys!) last year. He made Mother's Day really special for me and I would like to give him a good Father's Day too!

What did you do for your husband on his first Father's Day?

We are doing the meal thing today. I had planned for making meatloaf and mashed potatoes etc. but Hubby asked for tacos. We are planning a family movie today with healthy snacks too.

Those are some great ideas! I really like the treasure hunt idea Wendy. I will be cooking his favorite meal too, country fried steak with the homemade gravy.

Thanks Ladies!

Aw...congrats on those twins!

For our first Father's Day, I put together a treasure hunt. I hid a small gift at each location with a poem for the next one. That was 13 years ago though so I don't remember them. Each item was based on something that a father teaches his sons.

Something about cleanliness - a new razor and shaving cream
Something about faith - a small New Testament
Etc...

I know my husband saved all the notes. I'll see if I can find them

Congratulations Brandy! What a huge blessing :)
Here is a neat idea I stumbled upon but I'm not sure if your twins are too young.

I think Jonni has a wonderful idea by making your honey his favorite meal too :)

Many congratulations!

Father's Day is sure wonderful, especially with twin boys!!! For my husband's first father's day, I had a picture framed of our daughter, Violet, lying on his leg. I took it when she was about 2 mos old and it has become a family favorite. He loved it! And, I bought him some handmade sterling cuff links from a gal on Etsy that were etched with, "7 lb. 1 oz stunner. 2-27-09", which is what he emailed to our family and friends shortly after she was born. He couldn't wait to wear them and everytime he puts them on (most recently for a function in which he had to wear his tuxedo), he beams with pride. I also made his favorite meal (kack!) of meatloaf, creamed peas and mashed potatoes
