Any of you Witchy Wimmin have a summoning poem for the Faeries? We discovered this morning out at the clothes line that the frost made the Faeries build mushroom tents and we need to call them in. Grace said she heard them shivvering outside her bedroom window wanting to come in....I have always just voiced to them to come in, but I thought that I would make it fun for the girls now that Grace is older and more into this stuff....so, you have anything???

AAAAAND.....are you doing anything for Mabon? There is an eclipse on Mabon and the New Moon....

Tasha,

I had to go peek at your blog as well. Just lovely!! How wonderful to have 2 sweet girlies on the farm with you. I have 4 boys (and 1 sweet girlie) that mostly follow daddy around for farmwork. Occasionally, I get the boys interested in kneading and sewing but of course, they would rather pretend to be chopping wood!!

Your gardens look exquisite. Thanks for sharing!!
And of course, happy Autumn to you.

Cynthia, I love that poem and will save it - it reminds me of the premise of The Polar Express. The first time I read it to my niece and nephew I cried at the end...and my nephew "got" it...my niece thought I was nuts. Thank you for posting. Judy
Tasha, I just went over to your blog, too...what a beautiful setting for your musings. And your family is beautiful too! I love that your rag doll has the same apron as the mother/daughter aprons - I am sure she will love that! And I just love the Edwardian apron - it is exquisite - and well deserving of the prize at the fair. Congratulations! J

Yesterday was Mabon. It is the second harvest, where Lunaughsa is the first harvest. It is the end of the year. Hallomas, or Halloe'en is next and it is the New Year. Essentially it is a nice word for the Autumnal Equinox. We are now in Winter by the seasonal calendar and it is time for quiet and introspection.....a wonder why we come inside and do our craftings....

We bring the wee folk in....those that belong to the Summer and the Fall anyhow, because they are not made for the Winter. The Winter folk go outside and bring us the snow and the icicles and frost, etc.....We will use that poem. It is lovely. I will have to look into those books. Thank you.

I hope you all had a great Mabon!

Hello Tasha...
Here's one I found
"The fairies went from the world, dear
Because men's hearts grew cold;
And only the eyes of children see
What is hidden from the old.
And only the magic of love, dear,
Can ever turn the key
That unlocks the gates of Fairyland
To set the Sidhe folk free." (The Little Good Folk-Kathleen Foyle)
I would add to the ending of that..
"So come to me my Sidhe wee folks, come to me to warthm...for my eyes still see...and my heart is warmer than the fire...come to me out of the cold ,my dear fairy folk..."

The above by Kathlene Foyle was found in the book, "Faery Wicca, Book One" by Ksima K. Stepanich

I'm out of touch with my feminine side..please tell me when Maybon is...was it tonight at the start of Fall? The Wee folk would be very put out with my lack of touch with the Mother.

I don't really have any plans, but I just saw your blog for the first time! I love it! I am anxiously awaiting a post about herbal tintures and more photos of your farm
