Have you ever made ornaments that have nothing to do with Christmas, the holiday, or have the holiday colors on them, and gift them? I am wondering how the gift recipients will like them. Maybe something with decoupaged flowers? Or something to do with nature?

I just did these heart-shaped clay ornaments with my niece: http://gardenmama.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/01/my-entry-1.html

I used brown ribbon to make ornament hangers, and ferns for the greenery. They turned out really well, though we had some mess when we tried it with pine branches. (The needles were almost impossible to dig out of the clay once pressed.)

My husband does that before Christmas. He makes wooden Christmas trees, and I decorate them; painting, etc... He also finds large branches, cuts them about five or six inches and makes faces and glues acrons for eyes. They come out really cute.
