Ideas needed for packaging cookies.

I make peanut clusters, peanut butter blossoms, choc. chip cookies, snickerdoodles, and any other cookie type treat that tickles my fancy and give them to friends, family, trash guy, postman, etc. But I need cute ideas to package them.

I've put a variety on a pretty plate and slid that into a ziplock or wrapped in seran wrap w/ a pretty bow. This year I have jars of apple pie filling and apple butter to put in baskets along w/ some of the mentioned cookies and such. I'm trying to cut down on my buying this year.

Any tips?

Tommie

Wow ladies, what great ideas! I'll have to narrow down the choices for Christmas, but I'll be putting the rest to use throughout the year. These ideas could also be for Birthdays and such. My best friend lives in another state and the hat box idea would be cute and would provide safe shipping of some yummy cookies!

Fun stuff!

got this from another site:

Hat Box – There are so many sizes out there for hat boxes. They are great for putting in little gifts such as cookies. They come in an assortment of sizes and decorations such as teddy bears, Victorian flowers, and cartoon characters. Add some ribbons, stickers, or other decorations that make it even more personal.

Tin Cans – Using a container with holiday decorations, flowers, or even the person’s name can be a great way to give away homemade cookies. They can reuse the containers and maybe even return the favor one day.

Cookie Jars – Give more than just delicious homemade cookies. Give them a cute cookie jar along with the mouthwatering snacks. Do they enjoy pigs? Give them a jar with pigs on it. How about gardening? Cookie jars with flowers would be great. Have fun shopping for the perfect cookie jar.

Bowls – How about giving your cookies in a decorative bowl? There are so many sizes, colors, and shapes out there. Be creative in your bowl shopping.

Baskets – Give your cookies away in a beautiful basket. In fact, baskets might be the most versatile container you can find. With a few craft items and a glue gun, you can create a work of art to hold your wonderful cookies.

Flower Pot – Yes, I said a flower pot. Buy a brand new flowerpot and put your cookies inside. Wrap it all up in plastic and top it off with a ribbon. This is a great gift for those that love to garden or just love flowers.

Here's a fun video tutorial on how to make your own box and especially if you use cute Christmas paper: http://www.monkeysee.com/play/12961-how-to-make-a-homemade-gift-box

Brown paper lunch bags with a greeting wrote on the outside. You can put the cookies by variety in ziplock bags and label them inside the brown bag.
