Hi everyone,
I'm making gift baskets for my extended family this year, and I've decided on a "Sick Day" basket...what would you put in it? Here's what I'm thinking so far:
jar mix of chicken noodle soup
eucalyptus bath salts in a jar
pancake mix (easy meal for a sick day ) rolled up in a cute dishtowel
And that's where I run out of ideas! I'd like to make the stuff and keep it inexpensive, but any ideas you have will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jenny

How about one of those rice bags that you can heat in the microwave? They are easy to make and are so helpful when you have body aches.

Great ideas...thank you! And thanks for the compliment, Nini :) We give "family" gifts because I have two children, my cousin has two, and my other cousin has nine...too many little gifts and too much money!

Hankies or kleenex; a crossword puzzle or Sudoku book; a mug and mug mat or a water bottle; UMCKA or herbal teas like Throat Coat, Cold Care, etc.; oranges; straws for sipping when you can't sit up; a soothing homemade music tape; a throw blankie (we like to do the knotted throws you make with fleece) or lap blanket; a thermometer; antibacterial cleansing gel; a bottle of rubbing alcohol; a small jar of lotion or cream for the hands and nose; a rice pack; a hot water bottle; aspirin(?); a small jar of baking soda (for the tummy); a small jar of honey and a lemon (for the throat); a small, handwritten book of home remedies and grandmother's wisdom... I think that is such a great gift idea, Jenny! Everyone could use a sick day basket come winter time! You're one smart, thoughtful cookie! I just may make a few myself! Thanks for the idea! - Nini

packets of emergen c, honey lemon drops for a sore throat, some tea bags and a paperback book are always good additions.
