Back in January someone posted the idea of working on gifts each month of the year.It started out with potholders, I believe. It sounded like such a great idea and I thought I'd get involved but didn't get around to it then. Is there something on-going?

I've made accessory pockets (sorry can't go into details) for over 30 ladies in my life. I've made a pillowcase for two of my nephews with crocheted edging. I have patterns for chef hats for 5 children. I'm going to make a cross-stitched tote for my cousin. Lots of fun.

Home is a gift that should be opened every day.

I have started making pin cushions as gifts for my sewing sisters. They are so darn cute I need to make one for me too. This is a great idea to get started early. I know I love it when someone makes me a gift rather than buying one.

Started a scarf for my sister. I found baby yarn in a light "camo". It is really pretty. I think it looks like mint chocolate ice cream.

I have 3 sets of embroidered floursack towels, 3 needle keepers, and 3 different kinds of jam. Would like to make a quilted wall hanging for each of my 4 sisters, but this IS August, after all....

I have started a afghan for my sister. I am also making coasters with four seasonal colors and scarves. I would like to do a "mile a minute" afghan for my Mom.

I'm working on a crocheted blanket for one of the kids right now. Not sure what to make my parents this year. Last year I made them journal prompts for a journal to fill in and give back. Each prompt asks them something about their past, their growing up years etc. Then I can read it when they are done. I'm stumped on what to do this coming Christmas.

I'm glad you brought this up Susan. I was thinking about that thread before we moved and was wondering what happened to it. I can't wait to see what ya'll come up with. I probably won't get much done this year as far as handmade gifts. :(

I would love to do this! Brenda, I just went to one of Emerson's home's last week. It's in Concord, Mass. I so wish that I lived closer, but it's an hour and half drive both ways and you usually have to fight all of the traffic outside of Boston. But I love Concord. We are talking Emerson, Thorough, Hawthorne and my favorite of all favorites, Alcott. It's such a magical palce. I call it Literary Heaven.
