Not exactly a holiday, but didn't know where to post about it.
I'm planning a shower for one of my daughters, just for a couple of neighbors and relatives who have to drive an hour or two. I know its often the Maid of honors' job but she's already been recruited to help with one for college friends of DD, that one is also a bachelorette party, another hour away and not as welcome feeling to older relatives.
I wanted to try something crafty along with a couple of games and a snack. I thought of maybe getting those iron-on crayons and either plain colored potholders or flour-sack towels and having the guests make one for themself and one as a gift. Any other cute but not too spendy ideas?

I just saw this too. My daughter is getting married in October. So I will be looking for ideas too. I love the journal and the recipe cards. She likes to cook. Thanks for all these good ideas.

I found templates for recipe cards and will print them off to send with the invitations, and a great deal on flour sack towels at $1. We will use fabric paint and each person can decorate one for themself as well as one for the bride.

We did a signature quilt top there are lots of ways you can do that if you have a quilter willing to put it together.

What if everyone brought some kind of scrap of fabric to sew into patchwork dishcloths or something like that? This would be very time consuming, but it's just a suggestion.

Have every guest bring their favorite family recipe and make a book for the new bride. We did this at my daughter's shower and she uses the recipes all the time.

Thanks Teresa, that is a great idea! I want it to be a personal and close time.

Buy a journel book and have all the guests write something in it about your daughter, also you could send it around to other family and friends and have them add to it, the first page or so should be written by you mom.
