We have a new layer of snow which is perfect for our annual New Year's Celebration with the friends! We gather around a bonfire and go sledding and enjoy each other's company. Then we "retire" to the house for yummy potluck appetizers and games. I can't think of a better way to greet the New Year!
Here's wishing ALL of you safe celebrations tonight and a Blessed New Year!

My parents have a family over that we all grew up with every year to ring in the holidays. We play board games, munch on yummies, and reminisce. It is always fun to catch up each year and as we all add to our own little families, our celebration group grows. :)
This year, it is only one part of their family, but it is still nice to come together and enjoy our friendship. :)
For this year, has found our two families with, two new brother in laws, and one new baby.

I can't wait to see what the new year brings!
hugs and new year blessing to you all,
Jess

For the first time in five years (since we've been together and married and all) My husband and I are going to spend a nice, quiet evening in by ourselves instead of with family, and have champagne, cheese, lil smokies, and caramel fondue and just have a nice romantic time! :D...probably watch some specials and watch the ball drop too on tv...

well, me and my brothers, sister, and mom and dad are going to have a wonderful dinner, play tons of bord games, and then watch the specials on tv till midnight. I love the idea of the bon fire and sledding.

The sledding and bonfire sounds like fun. We don't usually have snow, but last year we had a bonfire. It was a blast.
This year we're staying home, watching movies with family members who drop by, and generally hangin' out.

Yay! I pick up my baby girl (lol,15yr) from the airport. She had a surprise Christmas trip to WI to see family. Head back home. It is a 2 hr ride. She is trying to make plans with friends cause Mom is not really exciting. I am trying to think of some fun stuff to do if her plans fall thru.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!

That sounds like fun....my stepson, his lovely wife and their two children are coming from the west side of the mtns. to spend a few days....I have a pot of spaghetti sauce on the stove to go with a salad and cheesy bread. I don't imagine they'll feel like a bonfire as they have an 8 hr. drive to get here, but that sounds like a great idea!! We will probably sit around, eat, visit and reminisce. Who knows if we'll make midnight!!! Have a great time and happy new year!
