I wanted to take a minute to apologize to all of you who took the time (and expense) to send me your lovely Christmas cards! Mine are sitting here at my desk, all addressed, but unmailed.

You see, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Aside from being very ill, it threw me into an emotional tailspin that being a Christian, I could never have imagined! I am finally feeling physically better and I am allowing the Lord to sustain me.

I am having a hysterectomy on January 6th. My prayer is that the surgery will be the end of it. I would truly covet your forgiveness & prayers!

Since I will be off work for a few weeks, I'd like to make it up to you all by sending Valentine's Day greetings instead.

Again, I apologize for flaking out on you! Your cards brought a smile to me each time I opened one, and somedays they were what kept me going!

Hope you all have a happy, prosperous & farm-filled New Year!

Chris

Hello all you marvelous Farmgirls! I am finally back!

My surgery went well. The cancer was contained and there will be no other treatment necessary! PTL! I am now 8 weeks past surgery and beginning to feel really well again. Had a couple of set-backs along the way (inflamed incision & a bladder infection) but my wonderful surgeon was quick to get me help for both. I still tire easily, and some days I can't concentrate at all. So, I just take a nap! Never knew how wonderful that could be!

I thank you all so much for your well-wishes, prayers and cards! I can't tell you how much they meant to me. I love the spirit of family and caring the Farmgirls have, even for someone they've never laid eyes on!

I plan to be around more. I know I've missed a lot of great stuff!

Farmgirl hugs to you, Chris

Hi! I'm new here and am jumping in to the message board with both feet. I just read Chris's initial post today and visited her blog. She posted an update on Jan. 19th as to how she's doing. It appears all is well, thank God.

God bless you, Chris, with a quick recovery.

I hardly ever pop into the Holidays section and so, I only just saw this. Chris, no worries here, either. The cards are not nearly as important as your health. Even though the surgery is already past, you'll be in my prayers for speedy recovery.

Hey Chris! I don't want you to feel bad at all what so ever. We are all sisters here and know that life happens. You have so much other stuff on your plate right now that you need to worry about! We all understand!

Hey Chris, it's probably too early to hear any news yet, but was just thinking about you and the surgery. Please let us know as soon as you're able to, how you're doing.

Thank you all so much for your understanding and especially for your prayers! I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be part of such a caring and loving sisterhood!

I am being admitted at 9 am California time, and I am anxious to get through surgery and on with life Strangely, today I am feeling better than I have in weeks, both physically and spiritually. 'Spose it all that prayer? I'll check in with news as soon as I can.

Luv you all, Chris

Chris -

We should be sending you "cheer up" cards instead. I am so sorry to hear of the illness and hope the surgery will be the answer. No need to feel guilty about the Christmas cards, we all understand.

No apologies needed here, either. Life has a way of overtaking all of us at one time or another. I'll keep you in my thoughts tomorrow, Chris. Sending both you and Lainey's family positive energy and prayers for strength and healing.

Chris, I'm sorry to hear about your illness. I will be praying for you during your surgery tomorrow and for your complete recovery. I hope that you're feeling better very soon. (Big Hugs)

I have to apologize as well on the Card Exchange. I feel really ashamed and I'm very sorry about it. I haven't sent mine out either but Lord willing I'll be sending out some cards very soon, hopefully in the next week. Those cards that came from you all really brightened up a bad time. We've had a hard time lately with my mom. Before and during the holidays she was in the hospital. We had to call 911 on Saturday and she's in ICU now. The doctor told us that this year will be very hard on our family as Mom's health continues to decline.

Again, I'm very sorry. Hugs to all!

Chris, no apologies needed for this farmgirl either. Your health and well-being is the most important priority. I think most of us have had times in our lives when things outside of our control through us for a major loop.

I will be keeping you close in prayer. Be sure to give us updates.

Praying that you hold tight to God as He sings over you.

God bless -

Chris I too was in the exchange. But please don't worry! Take care of yourself and just think about getting better first, that is way more important then sending the cards. I am glad the ones you received made you smile.

Hang in there Farmgirlfriend, I am praying for you.
God Bless you and will keep you in His loving arms.
