Posted - Nov 18 2008 : 4:40:55 PM My mom forwarded this to me in an email, and I wanted to share it with all of you farmgirls. When doing your holiday cards this year, take one card and send it to our Veterans at Walter Reed Medical Center (they ask that you do not send directly to the hospital):
Holiday Mail for Heroes P.O. Box 5456 Capitol Heights, MD. 20791-5456
**The deadline is December 10.** If everyone who reads this sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.

Card guidelines are listed here: http://www.redcross.org/email/saf/

Posted - Nov 24 2008 : 07:39:24 AM Jennifer, Last night on Huckabee (Fox News Network) he gave the address for Holiday Mail for Heros. Hope there is a really good response. It is the least we can do for the guys that are in the middle of what is becomming a very unpopular war. While some of us may oppose the war, we MUST take care of our guys. |

Posted - Nov 22 2008 : 06:56:06 AM This is my first pop-up greeting card, but it turned out pretty good. Yes, it is a stashaholic orginial. The first photo is of the outside, the second photo is the inside.
These are 2 cards that DS made (notice how he did his stars on them):
I'll be putting together some more, and be sure to send them on Wednesday, when I make my trip to the PO.

Posted - Nov 21 2008 : 05:05:30 AM Thanks so much for this great link! I've printed out the directions and will be taking it to DD's preschool today for the kids to participate in. Also setting up a donation box for items to be mailed in care packages by local families. We don't have any family serving but my dear Grandfather was Army and I lost a treasured student and friend in Iraq... Blessings, Leslie |

Posted - Nov 19 2008 : 01:39:50 AM Jennifer, thanks so much for posting this! After 9/11 it has been so hard to find ways to reach our troops on a personal level to thank them and support them - this will be wonderful! I'm going to get my kids going on it today, and will post it on my blog, too!
