Posted - Dec 20 2007 : 11:29:38 AM One of the things that makes me sad that I rent is that our apartment doesn't have a fireplace. I think having a working fireplace is going to be a must for any house we own.
Luckily, the elderly man that I care-give for is a huge fan of fires and...he has an amazing fireplace.
I built a fire this afternoon with just 2 logs and it so sappy that the flames were leaping up the chimney. It was great. After the sap burned off a bit, I decided to take some photos for you!

Posted - Dec 20 2007 : 5:13:26 PM I agree, Alee. There is just nothing like a fire. I usually can't sit still. I have to be working on something with my hands or up and moving. But if I have a cozy fire going, it is so calming and peaceful. I just love to sit, soak up the warmth and enjoy the fireworks.
So glad that you got to enjoy a nice fire this afternoon. What a treat!
