Posted - Nov 05 2007 : 12:20:34 PM Hey girls, with all the posts on Christmas and stores in full display, I can't help but to think ahead and thought that a Christmas cookie cutter swap would be fun! I've already picked out the set I want to send to my partner! I also thought it would be neat if we added a favorite cookie recipe with the cutters or a pot holder, just a little something extra for the baker. So, if your wanting to swap cookie cutters in time for holiday baking, just sign up here, then send me your mailing info. and I'll pair us up! I'll be taking names for one week, Nov. 12 is the deadline so I can pair us up and allow plenty of time to shop and ship in time to do some cookie baking! Who's ready to swap?

Posted - Dec 12 2007 : 11:17:11 PM Shawna, Here's a recipe for Ornamental Cookies. Remember these are not to eat. Scented Cinnamon Ornaments: 1 (4-ounce) can (about 1 cup) cinnamon 1 TBL cloves---1 TBL nutmeg 3/4 cup applesauce 2 TBL white glue (elmers--school glue--any kind I suppose)
In medium bowl combine the spices, add applesauce and glue: stir to combine. Work mixture with hands 3--3 minutes or until dough is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Divide in 4 portions. On floured surface, roll each portion to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut dough with floured cookie cutters of desired shapes. Using straw or toothpick make a small hole in top of ornament. Place cutouts on wire racks and allow to dry at room temperature for several days. turn over once a day. Makes about 32 (2 inch) ornaments
