Posted - Oct 31 2007 : 07:33:44 AM at exactly 5:35 a.m. this morning ... i tip-toed into my daughter's bedroom .. with a birthday cake .. lit candles and all .. and sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her .. (5:35 a.m. was the time of her birth!) she and her husband rolled over, smiled .. Wednesday blew out the candles, kissed me and murmered 'thanks mom'. Then the fell back to sleep! hmmmmmmmm .. somewhat as she did the day she was born!!
Today, the kids have a Halloween Parade and Party at Lucas' school ... miz sofia and i will dress up and go cheer the ghosts and goblins, princes and princesses .. and tonight .. after going to the few homes here in their 'cul de sac' in toledo .. we'll all go for a pizza party and trick or treating at their cousin's house and neighborhood.
the weather is sooo beautiful here now! the computer is in a sunroom that has three sides all windows .. floor to celing .. wall to wall .. and it overlooks a 'wooded park' with gorgeous leaves of gold and green. ahhhhhh! life is grande! xoxo

Posted - Nov 08 2007 : 08:07:48 AM That's great, Jennifer! My two mother in laws made Ava's costume, and it started with the "ruby slippers" from Target! I think I'd wear them all the time, too, if I were your little one.
I sure with Halloween wasn't just one day!!!

Posted - Nov 08 2007 : 07:50:47 AM That's precious Jonni! My little 4 year old was Dorothy as well. She's been obsessed with the Wizard of Oz for almost a year now. We've gone through two "Dorothy" dresses and two pairs of ruby red slippers. She even wears them to church!

Posted - Nov 08 2007 : 07:34:18 AM I know this is late, but we just got photos of my niece, Ava and nephew/godson, Max on Halloween. Ava was "Dorothy" from the Wizard of Oz, though she refused a wig, and Max was, fittingly, a Lion.
I love them!!!!

Posted - Oct 31 2007 : 8:25:03 PM What a hoot, Tasha. Ha! Rob Zombie--I think I may have even pointed that out when you mentioned what he was going to be a few weeks ago! I love the girls outfits--very wonderful.
Their little street clothes underneath remind me of my first halloween in costume. It was 1976 (I was 3), I went as Casper the Friendly Ghost, and because it was especially cold that autumn, mom made me wear a hooded "grover" blue sweatsuit underneath my costume. I was LIVID! Casper didn't wear blue, and it ruined my whole "asthetic"....I still suffer from worry over "appropriate" costume undergarments and clothing! Hopefully your girls understand that it's so they don't freeze their bums off!!!!!

Posted - Oct 31 2007 : 07:44:02 AM Sounds like a great day, Frannie! Love to see those little ones all dressed up! Have to go on my lunch hour to get candy and votives for the jack-o-lantern. Then rush home because they start trick or treat so darn early!!!!
Around our place, the little ones come the first hour, and then after that, I put out the "mediocre" candy for the teenagers and the ADULTS that come to the door. I usually start finishing up the pumpkin soup at during that hour!!!
