Posted - Dec 12 2006 : 8:47:13 PM I was inspired by a couple of posts I read today to write a tribute to my grandma on my blog (see link below). Someone posted a pic of an apron they received of their grandma's, and then someone else posted about a pattern book they acquired that smelled like their grandma's house.
I miss her a lot, even 10 years later...

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 07:22:55 AM I recently received some crocheted lace that was on my grandmother's wedding gown. It is beautiful. She was married in 1906. We lived not to far from her, so got to hang out there all the time. She was a doctor, unusual for a woman in her time, and had her office in her home. She died at age 96. My mother who is her youngest is now 90. So I have great genes from 2 powerful women. I'd better aspire to greatness. Egad!! I posted the lace on my blog. MB

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 05:25:49 AM I agree with Bonnie, such a bond is truly a gift. I never knew any of my grandparents, and I miss that connection, I guess that's why I work extra hard at being a grandma.

Posted - Dec 14 2006 : 03:09:16 AM Katee, What an incredible post. I adored reading it! Your grandmother sounds like a wonderful, Godly woman and so do you! It is truly humbling to think what we can represent to our children and possibly our grandchildren someday. We can take all the good the women before us possessed and model this for our children. What a connection! Your writing was moving, thank you for sharing. Bonnie
