Posted - Dec 08 2006 : 5:58:27 PM Oh, I'm so excited I can hardly stand MYSELF!!! I posted back on Oct.30th that our son Jason was moving away to Michigan and I was a total wreck...Remember??? Well he hasn't been able to find work there, so he is coming back home to work at his previous jobs for awhile and continue to apply for openings in Mich. He'll be home Dec. 19th!! Ive never forgotten what Nance from France said in her posting to me that it will be so sweet to anticipate him walking through the door and giving me a big bear hug someday! Well in just 11 days I'll get my hug!!!! I'm over the moon!!! This will be the best Christmas EVER!!! Just had to share my wonderful news!!! But........I feel just awful and guilty for being so happy cause his girlfriend will be spending Christmas alone, without him and she'll have to work too. We just love her and I feel really bad for her. I sent her presents off to her today, so maybe that will help a little.

Sad part they all fly out this week for their posts to await their deployment papers. They will all be deployed again by spring.I hope you enjoy having your son home. I know I enjoyed mine all being here.
Pray for our troops to come home safe and soon. Enjoying the road to the simple life :>) |

Posted - Dec 21 2006 : 4:42:57 PM Just an update...We were sooooo fortunate to have Jason fly into Denver on the 19th! Just literally hours before the blizzard hit. Denver airport has been closed down for 2 days and they closed the main freeway from the New Mexico border to Wyoming. Any Hoo....he's home, safe and warm and toasty and it's just the greatest having him home. Yipeeee!!! |

Posted - Dec 18 2006 : 08:53:51 AM Hey, farm gal pal. My youngest son is also named Jason, so I truly relate to you! He arrived from Sarasota last weekend, and is looking for a job or business to buy so he can move home again. Zippity doo daa! Christmas just doesn't get any better than being in the midst of those you love the most. He'll be picking you up and squeezing the daylights out of you before you know it! Have a ball with your boy! Posted - Dec 10 2006 : 04:49:07 AM I'm sorry for his girlfriend, but if things stay good between them, she'll have many years to enjoy his company at Christmas. I'm so glad you get this one after all! My daughter lives close by, and her family always comes over on Christmas Day for gift exchanges and celebrations. Her hubby has returned to school to finish a teaching degree, and it breaks my heart to think of how far life may take this sweet little family from me. But since I really do want them to get to pursue their dreams as I got to pursue mine, I'll just have to deal.
I sure won't like it, though. |

Posted - Dec 09 2006 : 04:50:39 AM Luzy -- Won't it be fun to spoil him with all his favorite foods?? And to give him that big bear hug and maybe sneak in some little huggies every so often? Our son is in Colorado, and will be here in Illinois for winter break from school -- and we'll all go to Michigan for a family Christmas. So yours comes from Michigan to Colorado, and mine comes from Colorado to Illinois/Michigan. That just evens things out so the world won't tip!
Anyway, have a blessed Christmas with your loved ones. |

Posted - Dec 08 2006 : 8:40:52 PM I do know how you feel! My son graduated college this spring and is now living and working in Chicago. Yes, I know that Chicago isn't very far from St. Louis, and yes I am very proud of him for setting this goal and achieving it, but I do so miss him walking through the door and heading for the pantry! He will be home for Christmas, but duty calls and he must return the day after. There are downsides to our children growing up!
