My daughter has sap in her hair. Don't know how it got there, and not going to ask. It's down at the end, at least. Any ideas how to get it out?

Just be glad it wasn't duct tape! The only cure for that was a really BAD haircut!
Sap is pine tar which they actually put in shampoo, so try a little vegetable oil and it should just slide right out depending on how much there is. We used to have pinecone wars as kids and that's what got it off our hands.Heat will soften it up too so the blow dryer might help it budge!

I can send my 5 year old grandson over with sissors :)
He cut his hair the other day, and also his 3 year old brothers LOL

I have gotten sap out of my oldest boy's hair with mayo ..I am sure mayo Peanut butter and Butter would all work well.

Just about any oily product will work for sap. I speak from experience, having raised a darling little farmgirl tomboy who would NOT stay out of pine trees!

Well I know pb, mayo or ice works for gum not sure though for sap
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Don't know if this will be a help for your daughter, but this is what we do for our dogs. (I know, it's not the same, but we don't have kids, it really works on the dogs, so what the hay...)
Butter.
We smear butter on the end of a hand towel and just work it around the sticky area, over and over. We add more butter as needed to keep it pliable. It works every time and it's relatively gentle. It can be a little messy, but it's been our salvation when our dogs go chasing into the cedar after a rabbit!

never had that one have had taffy and gum. thos eI know how to get rid of. taffy for future referance is just supper hot water don't get it on skin. Gum you peanut butter actually works makes a big mess and you have to wash the kids hair after ward but it does work.
Sorry not much help with sap

you can try Off bug spray, mayonnaise, or murphy's oil soap..these are all ideas I found by doing a quick search online just now.
