Posted - Dec 05 2006 : 08:45:28 AM About an hour ago I watched as almost 13 month A decided to unravel a spool of curling ribbon with our dog! They trailed around for awhile creating paths all over the house and then it and they began to bunch up and they carried that around in big loopy bunches spilling out of tiny hands and piled over big dog backs. There was laughing, giggling, rolling and licking involved but as an observer of this I just watched with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. How often do we see such pure joy shared and are privelledged to witness it? I am blessed. Where are the two hooligans now you ask? Taking a nap curled up together after their exhausting "excursion"!

Posted - Dec 06 2006 : 09:58:41 AM I did manage to find a disposable cammera with a few frames left. I hope they turn out as they will be a wonderful reminder of what I saw! I'm glad that this struck a note with some of you, at this time of the year especially there is just so much going on that it's easy to overlook those moments because we are so busy. Susan- I remember that look of wonder when Z saw Toy Story for the first time! He was just smitten!

Posted - Dec 05 2006 : 12:47:27 PM What a good reminder. Today after a morning of running a gazillion errands with all 3 boys, I told them how proud I was of them for cooperating at the post office, the thrift store, the grocery, etc. And that as a reward I would take them to McDonalds! This is a BIG deal for us. We dont go that often. And while they were all 3 playing in the play area I was cleaning up and stopped to watch them. It was so sweet to watch one of the 4 year olds at the top of the next climbing level holding the 20 mo. olds hands and pulling him up while the other 4 year old was pushing the baby's bum. Once in awhile I get a tiny glimpse of "maybe they really do love each other". Gotta love it!

Posted - Dec 05 2006 : 09:33:39 AM I know what you mean. Yesterday, I watched my grandson watch the movie Cars. I mean, I really watched his little face as his eyes got bigger and then a smile appeared on that tiny little loving face. I love it when I can just sit silently and watch his expressions. He's a lot of work, but I wouldn't trade him or my life with him for anything. Happiness comes in all different kinds of ways.....licking, laughing, whatever....I love it and always have! Susan |
