So, a lady ran over my husband's foot yesterday. With her car. Upon realizing, she stopped the vehicle, which was STILL on DH's foot, flailed about while he grimaced in pain, mouthed an apology through the closed car windows, and then DROVE AWAY. DH came home, limping, and his toes? They were dented / flattened.

He didn't get the tag number (probably was hopping around on the other foot, I can't blame him). We don't think anyone saw. I wasn't there. We don't have insurance, so unless his toes begin threatening to fall off or kill him, we can't have them checked. So far, there is no bruising (thank God!), and DH says they don't hurt, but they did appear slightly swollen to me this morning.

Can we / should we report this? Even though we don't know the tag number?

Well, we let the local authorities know what we could, but obviously, there's very little to go on.

DH's toes are better. I'm just glad they weren't broken or otherwise harmed beyond the smooshing. He wears his old military boots -- which, for anyone who doesn't know, are designed to actually slice off one's toes if too much pressure is put on the steel-toed end... So very thankful he was wearing his out-and-abouts instead of the boots that day.

Oh my goodness! Hope your dh feels okay soon. What is wrong with people!?

How stressful and awful for you both.

If they catch her, she should pay. First she left the scene, which is illegal.

And I am prayer for you hubby to heal, that is horrible.

Laura,
If you have medical payment coverage on your auto policy - it would be listed in the liability section and is an optional coverage - it may cover him as a pedestrian. A lot of agencies just add it on without asking.

Wow! Most definitely praying for your hubby! Do you have any herbs? An arnica and comfrey poultice would be beneficial - arnica for pain and swelling, while comfrey helps speed up the actual healing process. As far as turning her in - eeeks! I personally would. Doesn't that classify as a hit and run?

Wow....how inexplicably rude! I sure would report her even if it is just a description of the car and the driver. Sorry your husband had to go through this and wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn
