Okay ladies, I need more ideas for our upcoming wedding anniversary. He has to work, and it's the day after Christmas.

Here is what I am hoping to do -
-get a free movie, or one that is at redbox
-have a candlelight dinner in our room (there is room to do this if I get all my yarn and stuff put back away
-some sort of snack like cheese and homemade crackers or fruit and dip
- gifting him a photo album that I hope and pray to get put together before then (with photos from our weekend trips without kids)
-I do have Christmas and dinner jazz music too

Any other inexpensive, but romantic ideas?

Thank you all. This is the first year I took time to make it special, in so many years. With so many kids, it can easily be difficult to find quiet time.

maybe you could just cut up some cheese for snacks, put out some chocolates?

I have the table all set up in our room (the bedroom is the only place we can get privacy, so the meal is being set up in there), the table cloths and napkins ironed, and candles ready.

Hubby has to work, so it will be a late anniversary dinner. I'm having fun, even though it's snowing and blowing out. I do wish I had time to run up to wally world and print off photos, but it's too risky.

I'm putting photos of our past getaways into an album, and possibly making small sections with remnants of our past trips (receipts, ads with places we visited etc.) I wish I had saved wine labels, that can be done for future trips). It's an actual photo album, so those sections will be on 4 x 6 card stock and slipped into the photo cover slot.

....gotta go find my romantic jzzz/sax dinner music next.

I have to say this was a fun frugal idea. I didn't get the snack made, but hubby may surprise me with something tonight too.

Sounds good. I'd spice it up with a fun game, or a jar full of "wacky conversation topics," like "What would you do if you were in charge of building an acquarium." Stupid but fun stuff. I have a short attention span, and would fall asleep just watching a movie... but that's me (embarrassing as it is).

Kristi,
I think you've done a fabulous job of planning the celebration. I, too, think adding a massage would be a very nice touch.

Our anniversary is the 28th . . . so I'm trying to plan something for our celebration as well. Not nearly as far into the plans as you are. We will celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary!

Congratulations to you!

We have only had a massage once, and it was on a weekend getaway. I may have to add that to this night. His back is really bothering him. He spent 3 hours in the dentist chair yesterday, and had horrible back pain.

Today, I plan to look over photos and see what i can put into our "anniversary" album.

Thanks for the tip on the movie too.

I agree about the massage, get some good smelling massage oil, some nice new thick fluffy towels, and robes, and get massages!

Kristina,
I think that your planned evening sounds wonderful. The only thing I can think to add is perhaps some type of music that you both enjoy and maybe a homemade "coupon" for a nice massage for your DH from you. I think the greatest gift of all will be just being able to spend some quiet time together.
Happy Anniversary!
Hugs,

People Like Us was a surprisingly good movie. We just rented it at Redbox.
