My daughter is 20 months old next week. She terribly enjoys feeding herself with a fork, but has trouble getting it to stay on the fork at times. I showed her this morning how to take one piece of cut-up omelet and stack it atop another piece so her fork could spear the thickness more easily.

Now she has stacked all her egg pieces in pairs, and cries "uh-oh" every time one slips off the other in her attempt to stab, which is often.

There are times when a toddler is exhausting, but there are other times...

This is great! I love how little kids' minds work. The way they express themselves is adorable.

That's funny, Heather! At least she was trying to say the name correctly.

I baked a couple of pumpkin breads yesterday. My neighbor started her first job as a teacher, so I brought her one. I had made some jello and brought two small cups for her two kids.
Her little girl took a bit of jello, and let out this awful scream, saying, "Mommy, the jello is alive, it's moving in my mouth!". Then she spit the whole bite out. Her little brother wouldn't even try it.

My 3 yr old, Joel wanted dessert after dinner. I told him that he hadn't touched his dinner and needed to eat that first. He walked over to his place at the dinner table and with his index finger, touched his food(LOL)!!! Way too onery and he's only 3!

Feel free to share them! I think a lot of times we could use the extra smiles they bring.

Oh Leslie, How smart of you to enjoy the tiny magical moments. They are going to stay with you forever. This is a wonderful time in her life and like everyone tells you, it flies by.

Thanks for sharing. It brought to mind so many treasured memories of my little one, who now towers over me!

ENJOY!

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
