my daughter's Confirmation party! My two oldest daughters were confirmed in the spring. Our church has changed a tad bit and Miss Nat will be confirmed this autumn. I would love to have her celebration in the back yard if the weather is nice. Any ideas for this celebration? Having it in the spring was easy- and I am struggling a tad with this change.

Plan A, outside, you can go to town with garden mums and autumn themed foods and table decorations. Outside games for the kids to play and maybe football or baseball for the older ones.

Plan B, indoors, buffet with the same autumn theme with a bouquet or two of mums on the table. Perhaps a movie for the older kids to watch or even a coloring contest for the little ones. Inside or out you can give the children small gift bags that have bible versus in them along with a few other little items. Your daughter(s) could decorate the gift bags if you use paper lunch bags.

The adults will have entertain themselves with visiting and perhaps a TV in the garage or porch for those who want to watch football on.

Have fun planning a fall menu. Root vegetables will be in season, so if you like, you can do a tray of roasted vegetables for one of your sides. A big container of apple cider has endless possibilities to be drunk hot or cold, depending on the weather.

Hope this gives you a few ideas! Enjoy preparing for your daughter's special day!

Nat will be confirmed at 9:00am service. I would love to have a brunch in the back yard if the weather was nice enough. She has quite a few people on her invite list. My house is small and we will not be able to hold as many people that she would like to come...any ideas are truly appreciated!

Will the confirmation be during morning mass or at a separate ceremony in the afternoon?

Apple cider doughnuts! Pumpkin pie, maybe turkey sandwiches?

A hook, a book, and a good cup of coffee....

Fall foods are fun! What might your weather be? Chrysanthimums in pots everywhere, and maybe you could still plant them afterwards. Hot mulled apple cider. I'm not sure what you guys like to eat! Is there a type BBQ that would be good? I'm in Texas, not sure of the trends in your region!
