wow what a ride this last week has been! we are here and we are safe .
the move was not without challenges starting 12 miles from our michigan home when a tire blew out on the auto transport- two and a half hours later uhaul's tow truck guy had repaired it and we were back on the road. we "landed" at 930 saturday nite exhausted...my son helped us get the mattress in and we went to bed at midnite -after my sweetie man had gotten the 26 ft truck stuck and the tow truck guy dug it in 6 " deeper in mud!!!!!!!! sunday morning a diff=bigger! tow truck got it out and the most awesome moving crew unloaded us within 2 hours of starting!

we have spent the week unpacking and rearranging (still beaucoup boxes to go!!!), getting my car titled in ohio (tomorrow is my birthday and plates would expire), my ohio driver's license, medical oncologist appt, surgeon appt, bloodwork, a grease fire on our stove (no one hurt!), medicaid stuff, car and renter's insurance and tonite we get to babysit for two of the grands(YEA!!!!!).

my sweetie man will go thru the title, license plate etc thing next month after his social security check is deposited....money only goes so far!!!

this sunday after church we will go to my son's for birthday lunch .
tues next week i go back to medical oncologist and hopefully start treatment finally.

i'm safe but i am tired.....i thank you all for wonderful wishes and prayers! i think i am going to make a corkboard for all of the wonderful cards that i have received for my birthday and my cancer and just plain farmgirl stuff!
big hugs!

Margo,
I just found this. Take care of yourself. Glad you got there and are getting settled in. Moves are tough and often stressful. Take your time and try to rest as you can!!

Best wishes!

lori-ahhh my sweet friend!!!i receieved your card yesterday! i smiled!

we are still not completely unpacked- i'm trying to organize our bill paying and "office" area...and want to hang pictures and pretties! (some have been boxed up since our move TO michigan in 2009)--tho i don't really like this apt, i want to make it homey so it's tolerable. there is not enuff kitchen cupboard space- i mean who the heck really uses the cupboard above the refrigerator on a daily basis? and our table is too big for the kitchen so i am checking craigslist etc....there's not enuff storage space period!

i have some more things to take to storage so it is not so crowded-gosh to think of paying to store my extra stuff- could have rented a more pricey place...but---

we have some issues here at the apt which make me wonder if i want to break my lease but , in reading it, wow- it would cost a small fortune....the issues are regarding the other tenants (4 hours of a dog barking yesterday from 430 -830 am is one example)(the apt directly above plays their music full BASS!) (AND their dog runs and barks all day while they are gone tho not like the 4 hours yesterday)- there is no peaceful habitation clause as such -the lease does address barking dogs but there are 8 apts and they ALL have big dogs-and my lil one isn't perfect!so i don't want to start trouble-specially since the other tenants are a bit questionable in their looks ifyaknowwhatimean.....i'm tolerant but i do have limits and i have to be careful what hill i choose to die on!

i need a girls' nite but then sweetie man makes me feel guilty.....

i'm trying to rest and nap but am feeling very guilty if i am not "doing" something....and sweetie man isn't feeling well -i'm doing more of the cooking and dog walking than he is and i am afraid of what it will be like once i DO start treatment.

actually; i am worried about sweetie man- he had a colostomy in 2005 and reversal-and he has been having the hiccups a lot ( i mean A LOT!) lately like he did before he blew his bowel.....neither of us could go thru that again right now.

today is a mammo; tomorrow is chemo school, thursday i have an appt with a PCP to get established (sweetie's is tomorrow morning-that is always stressful to me due to his health history) and then monday morning i have an office call with MO and probably will start chemo---

got my hair all cut off last saturday and i feel naked! am buying big earrings to help with the adjustment (bought some from ceejay's purple thistle last nite!)

my daughter's company has a part time opening for a job that i could easily perform a few days a week- their gal in charge of the dept knows about my cancer and said to apply but i haven't heard anything yet- it's ok- tho money is getting to be an issue. (thank God for my medicaid cuz the bills are still coming from just testing so far in michigan!)and if i go to work it would be great to get outta the apt but then i worry about sweetie man....he fell in the bathroom the other day-hit his head on the wall and wouldn't call out for help....then there is the whole thing about not knowing how i will feel and when i will feel it from chemo and etc...how long can a company be gracious with a new employee? my daughter has a great job with them and they respect her- i know taht i am qualified for the job in question it's a matter of my health....and i really want to get back to school..i see my degree fading already......

i WANT to do things but have no get up and go-like right now i need to hit the shower so my parts are all fresh for my mammo!

hugs to you!!!!!!!when's your vacation?

Margo, glad you made it safely to your new home, although your trip sounds an awful lot like ours when we took the first load of stuff up to Indiana last year. Moving is almost at the top of the list of stress inducers, so how you're feeling isn't surprising, especially considering all the others stressors you have right now. Hopefully things will continue to calm down. Take care of yourself and keep us informed please. And belated Happy Birthday! Bet it was great to spend it with some family.

Margo glad you made it inspite of all the mishaps. You are probably so overwhelmed and have so much in your plate you need to cut yourself some slack and rest. Thats alot to deal with in such a short time plus your health. Do take care and take your time with the boxes. Am praying your appt. goes well and you can settle in as the weeks go by. You have been through so much and need time to take care of yourself. Prayers and Hugs.

Welcome to Ohio

Margo- please rest it is so good...rest, have a cup of tea, maybe a nice positive book and then a nap!! You will heal the best with getting good rest and you have already put in more in the past couple of weeks then most of us do in an entire month!! Please know that I'm keeping you in my prayers and sending lots and lots of hugs!

hi lori- today is a 2...nothing really bad has happened -just in a rotten mood.....and it isn't looking much better for this evening.

trying to get my sweetie man acclimated and i think his mental capabilities are diminishing-it's scary to me and maddening...

we went to walmart and i decided i was NOT having a good time- that might sound bratty to some folk but i think you can understand me....

maybe i'm just tired.

tomorrow is oncologist day and i have no idea what to expect-dunno if i am starting tx or just more talk.....

and i still have lots to unpack and NO DESIRE to do it......
well-anyhow.......
