so everything went well yesterday---i shoulda felt that "other shoe" getting ready to fall!
the two sets of folks coming for stuff arrived at the same time and were great ppl!
we STILL have no directv so it's been a challenge-finally dug out the radio just to have noise!but we would like to see national weather-
sweetie man got upset about the time involved in taking the cat etc so she did not go get declawed- it will cost me double in ohio but its his doing!
i did not get the catch all room completely empty but just have to box two boxes today and carry a few things outta there so i felt good about it last nite.
so-overnite we got ANOTHER 4+ inches of snow!dang it!!!!
and it's turning colder.....i still have to work in the garage today and tomorrow
heres the kicker today-uhaul calls to tell me where to pick up my truck tomorrow and its not where i thought but it will work...THEN that shoe fell...the auto transport that i need is in a totally different city-crapola!!!!!!!!!!!!so there go miles- she said they'll give me extra mileage on the truck-hope so!!!!
sweetie man is stressed beyond the max and saying that maybe we should move next week-not gonna happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i could not get to sleep last nite-went to the recliner and finally slept a few hours -which means without my cpap--went back to bed at 515 -couldnt get the recliner part to go down!dang....
ok- i need to get dressed and quitmy[bleep]in--we could lose power or somethin worse so i should be content!
today we have folks coming to get a dresser and some bathroom cupboards..the washer will go tomorrow i hope!
i am packing and stacking!
we got 6 inches of new snow since monday so that is hindering my attitude!
the bedroom and bathroom are done with the exception of very very basics that i need til saturday morning-coffee pot, toaster and bed!!!!
we have a "catch-all" room that i am emptying today-taking a break here- 99% of it never got unpacked when we moved here in september this past year so its easy....
i am trying to get absolutely as much as possible either in the garage or in the front room by the door so not so many ppl have to come thru here on saturday morning.
i had planned on baking some pepperoni rolls to treat my moving crew but am not sure if it is enough? i really want to not have a mess..those i can do ahead of time and supply lil bottles of water-cold as it is i should do coffee but am thinking not??? gosh....what to do???
tomorrow morning, i take the cat to get declawed and go to the bank to clean out safe deposit box, groceries to use up the last of my michigan food card (it doesnt get loaded til tomorrow).
i still have some stuff in the garage to finish boxing and i just am putting it off! i need it to be done by tomorrow nite!
sweetie man is giving me a very hard time cuz i wont ask the church/neighbor lady to come help me today but the stuff taht i am doing is MY personal stuff- i don't want her watching me sort papers etc and she is too chatty sometimes- a sweet gal but i am not into that!he was in tears last nite about this-his anxiety is bad and he knows he is driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!
his birds were adopted on sunday and so there is that much less to move-i miss them and i am sure that he does but-
and he still wnats me to get rid of teh cat and i won't.
the next big worry is if this will all fit into the 26 ft uhaul!!!!!!
im trying to rest when i can but it is not easy when i feel like he is a taskmaster.....
then today something went wrong with our directv-snow on the dish???no- unplugged somewhere???? and so it could be a long few nites til we move!

thought i should update my progress
my daughter found us a wonderful 1 bedroom apt in a bldg with no steps (good for my sweetie!) -parking is about 10-15 ft from our door. they accept dogs and cats and are waiving the $30 per month fee for each !!!!it will be easy to heat the apt and it has ac.
kitchen is utilitarian --make that small and sparse but doable!
the apt is by sq footage half the size of the nice ranch home we had in ohio before moving up here but -it will be tight and we will have to get creative!!!
yesterday, i express mailed the cashiers check for jan (prorated) feb rents and security,deposit, as well as copies of our driver's licenses and the hard copy of the app -also a copy of the background check that my college did on me to get into the human services program.
i have to call the electric company down there tomorrow to get it turned on in my name and then my daughter can et the keys-
one of my DILs is riding a bus up here friday and will turn around saturday to drive my car down- it will contain curtains for the slider and the bedroom window as well as rods, shower curtain etc and some other stuff- my daughter will then go in and start setting it up for us....
today at curch, we will be asking for help for moving day-sat the 21st
i have recd the paperwork from ohio for the BCCP and Medicaid programs.
we have sold our frig (not used here ) and the washer and dryer go next week--just really having a hard time unloading my heavy heavy sleeper sofa!it's a nice piece of furniture-we wont have room and i don't wanna move/store it!
i've reserved our uhaul truck and am checkin on storage units
i'm purging and packing as possible--i'm tired but excited!!!!!!!
so much still to do in the next two weeks...my cat goes to get declawed-she will NOT be a happy camper about that!!!!!

the dryer is gone; the freezer is one.....washer will go wednesday or thursday-i'm still using it!
now just the couch---
jammies are on and i am going to hit the chair! cuddle with the dog, read the paper......i've earned the nite off!

saturday- a week til move!
i was sposed to meet my mother for breakfast this morning-haven't seen or talked with her since september- it's ouchie! anyhow- i waited and waited and she didn't show- sweetie called her and found out she had confused the dates-thought NEXT week- so we are going to try again tomorrow before church.
so i am working inside today and still am bundled- our "living room" is too huge to heat so it's cold! but i am making progress-
the bird guy is sposed to come up tomorrow after we get home from church- he had to get lights put on his vehicle in order to rent a trailer for the huge cage. sweetie has very mixed feelings about this and i think it is hard on him to wait another day---kindof like "let's get it over with" -he is going to miss them terribly!
anyhow- progress.....
i am tired tho...very very tired......

due to the weather that we got here in northern michigan and the weather in northwest ohio; the bus trip/car transport plans got ditched!greyhound doesn't seem to know what they are doing from one hand to the other so we cancelled the trip which means that i had to rent an auto transport thingy to get the car there-np! hahaha -ill have to fight to get the bus ticket money back too! but i'll do that after we get down there.
so my sweetie has two macaws (large parrots) he has had them since he rescued them almost 14 years ago and due to his own health he is finally tryin to rehome them-that's a nice way of sayin sell them. we had someone very interested but he doesn't want both of them nor the price and so sweetie is on the phone with him now. i don't see it happening--we will take them and continue to feed and love them but life would truly be easier for us without them.for him to finally realize that he needs to rehome them was a huge effort.
so-i am freezing today and tired-did not sleep well- worried about the weather...i need to get dressed -bundled in layers! and get back to packing--sweetie is now worried that the 26 ft moving truck is not going to be big enough!!!!

OK Dear Margo- I read your list and then read it again....it sounds as everything is going great- except I didn't read a lot about you resting? ;) hehehe
I am so happy that things are falling into place- I will be praying for good weather and safe travels! Keep us posted on things and what the docs say when you see them.

Wow Margo, I'm tired just reading your post! But boy oh boy it sure does sound like you have gotten alot done and are really on top of things- You GO GIRL!!!!!

hi mom!
i was thinking today that i hadnt written for awhile!
yesterday we sined the lease, i scanned it in and emailed it back. i will get a key tomorrow night-my daughter got them a few nites ago!i have the electric taken care of at both ends, directv is coming on monday after we get in, i mailed the pprs for the BCCP today-cant do medicaid til i get there in person tho i have filled them out!
this week we have taken two carloads to Goodwill-about 8 large black garbage bags as well as about 4 large boxes(clothing and misc) and then about 10 lil bags (walmart size) full of books. 3 large bags of trash have one out and we have burned more than i know!
the laundry room is about empty-i have laundry on the dryin racks and there are still clothes in teh closet but taht is another day! the bathroom is all last minute packing as well as the kitchen proper tho our spices and all canned goods, boxes etc are packed!
still haven't sold the sofa or the freezer-durn it!
im sorting and stacking what will go in the apt vs what goes into our storage unit -it's tiring!
ive got some boxes and totes to sort thru and i need to pack my computer up.....
this afternoon, i packed most of the car for my DILs trip on saturday and tried to sneak in a nap!
oh! my first medical oncologist appt has been scheduled for the 25th-weds after we get there! so there is progress on that front as well!
i receive notes and cards from friends and farmgirls alike;they warm my heart!i have given ceejay my new address for the RAOK list and she knows that we will start getting mail there on the 23rd.i don't mind sharing the address but will not post it here!
i went up to school and withdrew-sad!
so...that's the news.....oh-and were watching the weather due to the storm that is due here- i pray my DIL has safe passage both by bus tomorrow and in my car on saturday.

Margo, your update is Wonderful News! I am so glad that all is working out so that you can be near your family. Please, rest and be careful not to overdo it. Saying a prayer for you, for your cat, and for the move. I'm happy for you.

Wow! Sounds like things are really falling into place nicely for you! I'm so glad! I always think it's exciting to move. I'd love to be moving now. Oh well, maybe someday {laughing}. Thanks for keeping us updated, now we all feel like we're part of the adventure too!

Make sure you take breaks. Packing and moving can be exhausting and you don't want to wear yourself out before you even get down there. Glad so many people can help you. You sound like you have it all under control.
