Posted - Jan 01 2012 : 1:27:47 PM Margo- I am not patient either...I understand you wanting to get started on your treatment to get you better sooner! Have you checked all of the options in Ohio? Maybe worth a try to speak to someone else- just throwing out an idea. There are no dead ends- only detours...don't give up!!

Posted - Dec 31 2011 : 08:43:12 AM winnie-thank you! no- my doc is out of town over the holiday- first chance i can speak to him unless i call his personal cell is tuesday and i really hate to disturb his vacation. i have spoken with some of teh ppl involved in my care-that is how i was told taht i cannot transfer my medicaid. when i called the medicaid office in ohio i was informed taht i must speak with the BCCP program in teh county to which i wish to move-and they are the ones whose phone rang busy busy busy all afternoon. i think they were partying!
without speaking with my OWN surgeon, i am thinking that my treatment needs to begin soon-due to lymphnode involvement. if i must stay here i will-i would just really prefer to have moved first!
i am trying to exercise patience-i have NEVER been a patient woman.... and i continue to pray!
i am trying to get my "ducks in a row" but it is not easy to think clearly with unknowns!and crying only makes my nose run!!!!

Posted - Dec 31 2011 : 05:54:31 AM Margo-- I am hopeful that your insurance can be transferred. It seems like there must be a way because I am sure this sort of request happens all of the time as people need to relocate during an illness. IT may take a few months to get all of the paperwork done and approved so you may have to start the first treatment protocol as scheduled where you are now. Hopefully, by the time the first part is done, you can move and then begin the second phase. Normally, I think they do these treatment plans in order of priority and not all at the same time. With lymph node involvement, my guess is that your oncologist is not going to recommend delaying the start of treatment. Have you sat down with your doctor and explained you desire to relocate to Ohio? IT is worth asking if the MD office can facilitate that in any way. Again, I bet they have had to deal with this all before and may be of some assistance. If not, then perhaps the MD can give you an estimated timeline of planned treatments so you can see when the next break will be and work towards being able to relocate at that juncture. This may take some time to resolve but maybe it will not be as long as you fear. We are all pulling for you on MJF and praying that things work out in your favor. The other thing to consider is that the treatment will get completed and you will be able to move on with your life so it is just a temporary situation. And sometimes things work out because it is in your best interest even though at the time it seems to be working against you.
I wish you lots of good luck, persistence with BC/BS and Medicaid in Ohio, and we are here to support you however the move works out! Right now, just focus on getting the next important part of your treatment completed by eating healthy and resting so that your body is as strong as possible to manage the treatments. I encourage you to only focus on yourself right now to be as healthy as possible and trust that the move will take care of itself!
We are with you all the way with hugs and prayers!

Posted - Dec 27 2011 : 8:14:38 PM That's so great, Margo! I know it's a lot of work, but just think how much better things will be to have your support system right there in the midst of everything. I'm just so happy that you'll be able to make this transition so soon and before you begin treatment! What a blessing! You GO girl! You can do this!!! You're in my prayers! Hugs - Nini

Posted - Dec 27 2011 : 7:42:15 PM Sounds like this might be an answer to a lot of questions you've probably been asking yourself. And it will give you something to look forward to and to get all your stuff purged and de-cluttered so you can go through your treatments without a lot of little nagging thoughts in the back of your head. Just clean it all out. If you can possibly replace something at a later date then your can toss it today! No sense moving it! Good luck to you! Audrey
