Posted - Nov 26 2011 : 1:43:00 PM Well, I've officially been a Mom now for two days. It is definitely a HUGE change from being just a wife.
I had my first baby on Thanksgiving at home with a midwife and my husband in the room and my parents just across the hall in the guest room. :) He was born at 11:24 AM on 11/24; 8 lb 10 oz; 23 inches long with 3 1/2 inch FEET! Biggest darn baby feet I've ever seen. It was a super intense, almost 5 hour labor, and I'm feeling much, much better today than I did yesterday!
I will update the blog at some point today with the birth story and pictures for everyone.
*UPDATE* Pics are up on the blog :) At 4 days old, Ty is such a joy. He only fusses when there's a darn good reason, I hope he stays like this!

Posted - Dec 07 2011 : 3:43:06 PM Thanks all :) We are very blessed, indeed! Ty is a joy of a baby who really only fusses if there's something wrong. As I was a super-colic-baby, I was a little concerned. Apparently he can still get colic around 6 weeks, but the first almost 2 weeks are going quite well :) I should really update the blog at some point today...
Thanks again for all your nice words :) I'm very happy with the outcome of the home birth- now I get to decide if I'll be going back to work or not. If DH can get a job, I may not. Decisions, decisions.

Posted - Dec 07 2011 : 06:37:59 AM Congrats Natalie!!! Children are a precious gift. Mine are now 31 and 23. I truly enjoyed raising them both. Wanted to have more but it just wasn't in the cards for me physically. So glad all went well and the baby is just beautiful. It was so neat that you could have him in your home. I think that is so wonderful.

Posted - Nov 28 2011 : 6:38:17 PM You guys are a really cute family. Judging by his feet, he'll be a strapping boy. Enjoy him! My first labor came in at 29 1/2 hours. I was fairly certain I was "dying." I think it lasted so long because I was scared to death!

Make sure you take lots of pictures. Get a couple of him bare butt naked running around playing to blackmail him with when he's a teenager. LOL Boys do not like for their girlfriends to see their nakey butt baby pictures. They'll even vacuum for u if they think those pictures are going to get shown LOL.
