I, Trish Rego, do swear on Gramma's grave, that I will never let my mother work like a dog. She will never bust her butt at a mini market, or as a cleaner, or packing apples, or cooking the line. I will do the butt busting.

I just had to let that out before the baby shower. There will be many older ladies that work ridiculously hard.

Funny to see this post. I was at a Walmart yesterday and this poor little old woman was working so hard to put things away. She looked to be ninety! She was very wrinkled, and had no teeth, hardly any hair, and you could see cataracts. Her hands were very arthritic, but she was doing her best and standing on her feet. I chitchatted with her a moment, and she was very sweet. I felt so bad that she was working so hard at her age, probably to pay medical bills. When we left, my husband said seeing her made him sad, and that he couldn't see his grandma (who is 90) working like that at her age. This poor woman looked older than his grandma!

It kills me to see my aunt work so hard. I don't think she is going to get to retire. I am hoping her youngest son steps in, when he is finished with college. I might have to start a home for Aunties.
