Have any of you guys read this book? All I can say about it is, well, Wow. It isn't about learning neat new tricks to make our hubbies mind (darn it - grin), but there is some powerful stuff in there. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through and so excited I brought a copy to my Mom and am telling ya'll about it now!

I think it's most helpful if you are having any marriage troubles at all (which I think entails being alive and being married)... but even if you DON'T have any, or you're not married just yet, the book is just awesome.

It's by authors Cloud and Townsend, with Zondervan Press. Apparently there is a Boundaries With Kids book too which I'll be looking for next. It's just great... instead of getting frustrated or feeling helpless to fix problems (such as wanting to peench your husband's head off), here are some things to DO. Ways to think. I feel more mature already! (grin) (well except for the 'peenching' part)

Just wanted to pass it on!! Thanks!!

Thanks for letting us know about these books girls, I think I will have to check them out! Thought my marriage was over last week after 30 years, so any advice is gladly received on my end!

I have the book too, it was really good! Right now my husband and I are listening to Dr. David Jeremiah's programs on marriage from Song of Solomon. That has helped us the most right now. Plus on Sunday nights we have a bible study with a few other couples on Marriage and its a group study from Chip Ingram (spelling on last name might not be correct) by blufish tv. That has also brought up some good points but even through all the books I'd read the programs from Dr. David Jeremiah has helped us the most. You can get them online and they are about thirty minutes each. He does have a book to go with them and we are going to order it online when my husband gets home from work tonight.

I just want to add that part of the reason books haven't helped us is that my husband doesn't read, he absolutely hates reading because he is a slow reader and absorbs everything so the fact that we can listen to something together or separately has really helped us so we are both getting the same information instead of just me reading a bunch of books and trying to talk to him about it! Plus with it only being thirty minutes is short enough to keep our concentration but long enough to get some good information to think about and talk about it.

I think the Boundaries in Marriage book would be a really good study for a few couples to get together and do! It would have been more productive to us if it was more "audible" I guess. Thanks for bringing it up! Not to many other people I met even knew there was a boundaries book on marriage! :)

another wonderfully helpful book is ,
"improving your marige without talking about it"
awesome and it will improve things even if only one of you reads it and applies it.

If there are Cliff Notes, I want them too!!

So far I've gotten that alot of the situations I DON'T like in my relationship with DH are my own fault, because we get what we allow. Well fiddle, I'd alot rather just blame him and be done with it! But I guess (pout, pout) it doesn't really work that way. I'm not sure how to fix things yet but still reading that book (and praying!)...
