So glad we have better educated ourselves and no longer do these things!
What were these advertisers thinking?

What ever happened to a healthy diet?

I like a good Martini as much as the next gal, but PaLeeezee!

This one scares the bageeze outta me!
Honestly, what were they thinking when they ran these ads?

Beer has been a staple for centuries. It is healthy in moderation. Wine can be too. Both of these things have little alcohol if no sugar is added to the ferment. During medieval times it was illegal to add sugar to wine fermentation.

Depending are where you are from,,,these make sence,
My mother is from Germany, & I was 3yrs old before coming to the States...beer was not something my mother drank much but I remember her always telling me, 'a glass a day of red wine is good for the blood'....
So fast forward, when I was 22 & in the hospital giving birth to my first(only) child, that evening the nurse brought me in my dinner w/what I thought was grape juice...I ever so discreetly informed the nurse that the 'grape juice' had gone bad...she laughed & said, "Honey, that's red wine, it's good for you"... giggle, boy did I feel stupid..... at 22 I had not 'imbidded' in alcohal of any sort....hmmm, maybe that event is why I do now! snork, giggle,,,just kidding!

Well, to give "balance", it was a different time. I drank 7Up as a kid and my teeth sre still in great shape. Beer does have health benefits. The gun one, at least kids aren't given a gun to take to bed. Look at it thru the prism of the times, not inour modern age.

The beer one is accurate. When I lived in Ireland, mothers, just an hour after giving birth were given a pint of Guinness to boost their strength back.

The pop and the beer one made me laugh, but, that one with the revolver was downright scary. I have been around guns my whole life. But,my Dad always made such an issue out of safety and not ever touching them. That one one really blew me away.

I think that the beer is semi-legitimate. The implication is that there are benefits in the ingredients to the breastfeeding mother.

Does anyone else remember that the closest we came to using a seat belt was our Mother's arm pushing us back in the seat when she hit the brakes? LOL

Lifes not about the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.

Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

That's right ladies. Feed your children some 7-up and beer and then let them play with your gun! It's a wonder any of us ever lived this long.

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
